whataboutery and deflection. Standard tory tactic.
Standard lefty tactic...
1. Be lefty
2. Call everyone you disagree with racist in an attempt to discredit them.
3. Lose election.
4. Repeat.
Keep up the good work...

Been done before but there is seriously deep rooted, insidious & almost subconscious racism in the country which comes to the fore whenever the right don’t like someone, the venom is increased exponentially.

As for Patel, she should have stayed sacked when she met up with the other country, couldn’t give a fuck what ethnicity she is but would be more worried about her being duplicitous & incompetent.

You are Dave Spart and I claim my £5.

except you're wrong.
Grendel linked an article and slated Dianne Abbott. I argued why I thought the article was wrong and said I didn't think his criticism of Abbott was racist.
You're having a mare mate, call it a night.

A lot of it is.

but you’ll disagree as you’re in one of the groups I mentioned above. Not going well for you, this one- I’ll leave you to it

some criticism of Abbott is clearly rooted in racism.
Why did you use the example of her wearing two left shoes rather than Phillip Hammond getting his HS2 figures wrong by 20 billion, or Dominic Raab not knowing that Dover was an important port or Chris Grayling awarding a ferry contract to a company with no ferries.
I'm sure you've got a good reason.

Me too. Saw it on the news earlier. This is what the people in the boozers, acting like it’s nothing, aren’t getting. Italy has a great healthcare system by all accounts (sick boy also confirmed) and Switzerland said a few days back that its healthcare system could be on its knees in 10 days....yet people are still blasé about it ?! These aren’t third world nations. It’s coming, I just hope that due to demographics, the fact we are (were) slightly behind and how it may have spread differently, it spares us more than poor Italy (but I could well be clutching at straws)

let’s also hope everyone just tries to do their bit to protect those at most at risk by following government guidelines

Day 9 of being ill, called 111 and told I’m highly likely to have it but as it’s mild, need to get through it. It’s proper shit!

Sorry to hear that mate.

However, it is only when more stories like this come out where people you know are getting it that the penny will finally drop and people will start listening to the advice and stop being dicks.

Hope you feel better soon.

Keep plodding through it. It might help if you described some of your symptoms. The suggestion what it is mild is the bit where people get confused.

If you have other examples then fair play, I've not heard of any. Do you seriously believe white, right wing politicians don't recieve their fair share of ridicule? If so we'll just have to agree to disagree.

It’s strange that Hammond was able to get figures wrong by billions as chancellor and doesn’t receive the same level of ridicule.

Unfortunately, and I’m sorry to say, I think you’re clutching at straws to think that Britain won’t be impacted in the same way, if not worse.

The severity of the situation won’t dawn on people until it’s too late, it’s being going on on the country’s doorstep, there will be major regrets and anger over the inaction and the blasé attitude towards it.

Lockdown there is inevitable and should have been done already.

Yeah good luck Stu, but FF's suggestion of you posting your timeline of symptoms might put some of the myths to bed.
For instance - does it come with a sore throat (without a cough), runny nose, sneezing, headache? Those are associated with a cold/flu, so would be helpful to know the difference.

The borders were open for so long, quite possibly still are, what the hell were they thinking? As soon as this is over, Boris and his cronies need to stand down, been incompetent from day one.

I agree with Trump, this should be called the China virus, if they tried to stop it instead of trying to cover it up, we would not be in this position. Now the CCP are playing silly buggers with the Americans by with holding medical supplies, I hope nobody in the west deals with them in the future.

There’s been talk here recently about banning people from Britain entering the EU due to the inaction being taken, don’t disagree with it myself.

Italy need to do right by their people, fully support closing the borders too countries who are taking an inappropriate response to this.

I'm really pissed off with our MD, we drew up a plan on Thursday to start working at home from Monday, however yesterday it was overruled by the MD and has told people to continue to come into work, he keeps saying this isn't a holiday.

I've been on holiday the last week. I've had better ones...

That's a joke and a massively outdated opinion, if he doesn't trust his staff he shouldn't be an MD. It is the same at my work, we are being forced to use half a day annual leave everyday at the moment because i think the boss doesn't trust people to work from home. It is actually illegal as well, so going to be interesting what happens over the coming week or two.

If people die from this then that MD should be held accountable and put on trial for manslaughter. Get that in the daily briefing and I’m sure all Jon essential staff will be home before you can say ‘shitting bricks’.

What I don't get is places saying they'll close from Monday, if it's non essential. It's either dangerous, so close NOW, or not dangerous, so don't close.

Closing in a bit shouldn't be an option.

It's contrary to direct government advice, so if you chose to work from home (and had evidence that you were achieving as much), i suspect i know whose side a tribunal might be on!

PS, Your MD's a c**t!

Anybody else getting paranoid? I have a bottle of Dettol at the front, as soon as I get in I wash my hand then go round with a bottle of Dettol to disinfect the surfaces I've touched between entering and washing hands.
