Have to say, I draw the line at a dog bowl. Conjures up so many images in my sub conscious and turns my stomach just a little just thinking about it, even though I know it has never been used for a dog (well you would hope not anyway).
My mate ate a tin of chum for Charity down at the Hen &Chicks about 20 yrs ago. B-)Have to say, I draw the line at a dog bowl. Just stuck my head in the Slug and Lettuce and it looks a lot better. Very bright, almost seems more open and a good use of the garden area.
A welcome addition if it has learnt from the Establishment and gets its service right.
Am I right in thinking you can't park at Cathedral Lanes? Bit of a drawback if they're trying to get people in for restaurants.
There used to be the one behind the banks but not sure if still there. (only small)
Otherwise swimming baths and then walk through Cathedral.
Salt Lane's close enough! Barracks is really, too.
Salt lane's always empty in the evening though, so no danger of not getting a space unless it *really* takes off.
I once saw an English shop in Florida selling all the stuff ex pats couldn't get over there.
One window was just a display of Heinz baked beans! Can't remember the cost per tin but I do remember it was expensive.
Again you make something up with zero statistical back up. If you bother to look at city centre footfall many cities are showing significant increase with many having significant investment.
Yup. If we can't get it from the president of the United States or Boris Johnson we can hardly expect it from Shmmeee.I’m just shooting shit on an Internet forum, not presenting policy FFS. I dont have footfall data to hand, it’s usually proprietary. But looking at Coventrys from 2011, it’s higher than 2016 though not by much. Both around 600k.
Having a quick look at Leeds it’s hard to tell as they changed their collection methods and only go back to 2008. If you’ve got better data I’d love to see it (I need it for work anyway)
So I have to base it on anecdotal experience in Cov which is that it’s quieter than it was.
Also: LOL at you of all people demanding evidence based thinking.
I used to walk 3kms in Italy just to buy some.
Baked Beans are one of the greatest inventions of all time in my opinion and that's coming from someone who doesn't like beans at all, be it kidney, broad, lima, pinto, cannelloni and haricot (yes, I know, I know!!).I was on holiday in Italy a few weeks back, despite catering to a largely English crowd there wasn't a baked bean in sight for the cooked breakfast buffet. For a country that prides itself on a culinary reputation they've got a lot to learn. I've emailed Aldo Zilli and given him hell
Your earlier point about city centres switching from retail to general leisure destinations is spot on.I’m just shooting shit on an Internet forum, not presenting policy FFS. Yep. Exactly what I saw said on a programme by retail, high street experts.Your earlier point about city centres switching from retail to general leisure destinations is spot on.

On street parking free after 6pm.Am I right in thinking you can't park at Cathedral Lanes? Bit of a drawback if they're trying to get people in for restaurants.
Went up by the CWR building at Priory Place the other day, first time in a while. Had become a bit desolate and quiet around there, so it was really nice to see nearly all the units open again once more.
Now has PGR (pizza restaurant), Han Dynasty (Chinese) and now also a Japanese restaurant and then also a Korean restaurant. The Korean restaurant seemed particularly vibrant and a bit busy. This was at around 6pm on Friday. Anyone been? Fancy trying it myself, as I have have never had Korean food before.
Also worth noting that Twisted Barrel are moving into much bigger premises at Fargo Village soon, so it must be proving popular.
And on talking about novelty and quirky, a new cafe is opening in Corporation Street, called Jam Jar, where desserts are served out of .....well yep, jam jars.
If you go do please let us know if it was any good or not.I once had some Korean food at a street food event and it was absolutely delicious. Might look into trying this new place myself.

It's called Jinseon.
There's only 12 reviews to be seen so far, all good ratings, but I am guessing it must be a very, very new place.

There was a place called The English Shop when I was living in Gothenburg. I used to visit pretty often but eventually my relationship with the place turned pretty sour.
I was pretty in love with the place to start with when acclimatising, but after a while I found the staff (mostly English), pretty obnoxious and condescending. It was also roughly £8 for a pot of Bovril. I eventually fucked the place off.
I think it was.will do, 12 reviews on Trip advisor?
I think they are mostly sundaes from what I can see. I don't think they do cakes in a jam jar.If it's a drink in a jam jar I don't mind that too much, if it's a dessert though it'd be too annoying to get at with a spoon
