I know that his service was severely limited today but it's time to call time on Bassette leading the line in my opinion. Great option off the bench for the last 25 minutes or so .

I don't think ellis simms offers absolutely anything at all , so you an see why the managers opt for workrate first

You've got this totally wrong . I've said previously that I don't rate Austin but ultimately the manager has final say on whether a player is signed or not.

But the point is if decent players are never put in front of him there’s not much he can do.

I don't think I have , the managers are being shown players based on the profile given and stat driven data is suggesting they're good enough ..

Why would a manager say no if they fit the profile they've asked for and the stats show they are good enough

What will be different going forward??

We have just had our easiest block of fixtures of the season so far in fairness , you'd expect to concede less etc

Portsmouth & Plymouth yes. But Millwall aren’t a bad team

May be the current manager asks for different attributes in a player that the previous one did ?

Both offered nothing, but people are pretending Simms did because they want him to start. His first touch and on the ball ability are embarrassing for a professional footballer, he looks like he’s going to fall over with every touch he takes whenever he has the ball at this feet. We desperately need Wright fit so we can give him a go down the middle. There is a reason why three managers in a row have now opted to play an inexperienced 20 year old over Simms and BTA.
Bollocks. He showed far more strength against a physical CH than Bassette did. Also when Wright had played through the middle he has been terrible, bottles challenges and loses the physical battle. It’s no consequence that his upturn in form and output was when he was moved wide

So nobody whatsoever then ? I don't rate Austin at all btw but MR seemed to trust him . Maybe that was his biggest issue

I can’t think of one signing we’ve underpaid for since he arrived, no. And several we’ve overpaid for.

the club also purchased a higher tier bracket on a player database giving them access to more players information over the last year or 2 .

I think Wright will get a run out up front once fit.
It could work well with EMC on the left and Sakomoto on the right. (Once Sakamoto finds some form and consistency)

That would leave Bassette as second choice and Simms fighting it out with BTA for a place on the bench at best, and with Simms only covering 1 position it doesn't look good for his future here.

If we're actually serious about going up, we'll need better than Sakamoto.
He's certainly been poor since coming back from that bad injury, he's showed flashes of what he's about, but to be honest, he's not worth his place in the side at the moment.

It's a pity Raphael isn't nearer a chance.
We need someone to be challenging for the starting spot, Tavares and BTA arnt the answer

The problem is we need too many new faces to make us competitive for promotion.

...only got 5 mins, wedding anniversary, we usually forget but have remembered this year for a change so off out. I have only just got back in from the game

* Midfield had no creativity at all, Torp (whom I like) v. disappointing. Reminded me of Derby but without the defensive howlers
* Bidwell and Rudoni were good but that was about it
* Why did Lampard leave the substitutions so late? Simms was a distinct upgrade on Bassette
* Has Tats said something to MVE? In the first half you would not think they were in the same team. A bit better in the second half.
* Sheaf: not the leader (Thomas appears to be) no penetration, no urgency. Just strolling around. Once EMC comes back I'd drop him

MVE, Lati, Thomas and Bidders looked pretty secure, so I suppose I should enjoy that small crumb of comfort

When you can hear the players' chatter you know you are at a crap game
