2024/25 League 1 Champs?

See if Simms was off as rumoured it would make sense to sign him as an experienced player.

Without Simms going tho just leaves us way to much depth especially as I think Mason and Haji will be playing together and rotation in between the ST and LW roles.

Will say tho if we wanted a godden replacement 1/1 we should have gone for Langstaff. Feel he would do really well here with his movement or Joe Taylor from Luton

1 goal in 21 at Millwall isn’t a great return though, albeit we probably create more than they do…

not hit the heights expected as yet

I suppose it depends whether you see EMC/Haji as competition for that CF role. I think both are great on the left so would be loath to move them making BTA the only direct back up to Simms at the point we signed him.

Still, Millwall thread - EMC is a big loss - keeping it tight at the back is vital here as if we concede more than 1 I think we will be in trouble. I'm hoping we have a 2-0 in us.

I'm convinced Norman's inclusion is Lampard sending a message to Simms.
Seeing Jimmy87s comments on another thread I think the message is sinking in.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him start tomorrow

Just think that Lampard should get Dr Claire to do some genetics shit and put Bassette's brain into Simm's body.

Simms is so frustrating to watch. We all know he can score goals but this season he looks like he is not interested, hence why he is not starting, he should have kicked on this season, what has gone wrong with him?

More offsides than Bakayoko and looks less likely to score. Honestly no idea why Bassette is getting a free pass all the time.

Because he works hard, has a bit about him and quite young to be playing regularly leading the line in the championship?

He doesn’t get free pass, but also unsure why he is the butt of a load of criticism when he’s been involved in some decent performances. It’s pretty clear he is not the issue in this team.

Maybe Sheaf has lent his Gold Free Pass Card? Or maybe because he presses and runs his socks off every game. Shows some effort unlike a few others in the team.

He’s more of a modern day pressing monster than Simms is. He’s work to do on lots of things but Lampard is about winning it high up the pitch and currently he’s best at that

He got a standing ovation from some the other day for doing little.

People like him because he runs around a lot but is there sufficient evidence that he’s actually contributing positively to results?

He was all over the place wasn't he. Trying to beat the opposition, single handedly.

Always reminded me of that bit in Star Wars on the Death Star when Han Solo shouts "arrrgghhh" and chases after a load of storm troopers singlehandedly.

Passed to Sheaf who crossed to Saka. Played to EMC who laid it off to Eccles. So yes.
