They didn't create anything at all really even with bannon on

They cut us open a few times before Bannon and completely ran the game with him.

The first hour was probably the best performance under Lampard. But the Simms chance aside our only real chances were from corners.

I need to see a better angle of the Thomas goal, it does look like BTA is fouling the keeper, but that's only from one angle, and only watching it on my phone.

The Binks one isn't shit refereeing, it's the laws of the game.

I'm talking about our disallowed goal

You're right, they did cut us open a few times, but every time their final cross or pass was poor or someone was offside.

Pointing to the laws of the game would be great if they were consistently applied.

First line of that is "The Laws of the Game and FIFA instructions indicate that any player requiring treatment must be given such treatment off the field of play", it goes on to state that physios should only be allowed on to asses players and that should be no more than 50 seconds. When does that ever get applied?

Also raises the question that as it was a head injury should the ref really be forcing a player off the pitch before there has been any assessment of his injury?

In any case we should have had a free kick so if the ref had got that right forcing a player off for treatment would have been less of an issue.

But who wouldn't? It doesn't mean he's giving any less. He's Dutch and I'd imagine would like to play for a decent Dutch top flight outfit. Likewise he'd probably also like to play for a huge club like Gala with pretty much guaranteed European competition in a great city.

Exactly. Any professional would want to play at a higher level so not sure why people try to make it out as a bad thing.

Has he downed tools ? no. Did he work his arse off for 120 mins ? yes. As long as that continues then I’m happy enough

I thought we did well for most of the game, we really limited their chances and actually looked pretty solid (for us). Allen played a blinder in CM, his awareness and speed of thought are something that we have been lacking for a long time, his 1/2 touch play could have sparked a few good attacks (I think Allen has Premier League brain but L1 ability, always tries the right thing, doesn't always work).

Could have gotten more from the game (refereeing aside), Rudoni and BTA in particular killed a few attacks between them by taking to many touches which seems to be a feature of their game.

Yep so long as it's done to our timescale and covers preceded the move.

I get the point that we were missing Wright, but you can’t help but feel if Bannon has been on from the start we’d have lost. Once he came on it was a totally different game.
I doubt he can manage a full game, he was in the end on for about 60 mins, I don't remember him being terribly effective in extra time.

We changed shape and even though he was still seeing a lot of the ball it pushed him into areas where he was less effective.
