I mean they might turn out ok but was it 5 million for the pair. 5 million for EMC? Again I'm not running the players down just how readily we chucked money at unproven players
Personally think Thomas and Kitching make up our best CB pairing and refusing to just go with that is part of the problem and largely why Robins is getting on my tits. Refusing to do the blindingly obvious.

I've said a few times on here Robins isn't Kitchings biggest fan. Fitness levels, attitude on and off the field.

That's why he chops and changes him

it's clear we've lost key figures off the pitch. adi and dennis.
we've also lost a lot of experienced heads on the pitch.
so not surprising that there's a lack of discipline, direction, structure etc during games.

trouble is, these things take years to build up. how do we get a grip on this, and quickly?

If I’m Doug: Matty James in ASAP. Disciplinarian assistant in, ritual sacking of the most hated coach. In Jan get an experienced CB in. Get a defensive coach in with similar leadership ASAP.

MR was absolutely determined to buy Kitching as well

You said because of Dougs transfer policy. I think there are many managers that would happily try and work with that policy tbh, he's spent money many in this league would kill for.
So for the reason you originally stated, yes I'd be surprised. Generally speaking I guess I wouldn't be that surprised right now.

But I would argue it’s Doug’s policy that has left us in this position, moved on experience and replaced with young players with a sell on value. I think his reluctance to sign older players and add replace the experience is what I’m referring to that could be frustrating Robins. It’s great Doug’s spent 40 mill and undoubtedly built a stronger squad, but we are lacking leadership

Nothing regarding Robins, it's mainly the players.

Few home truths told, certain players (rightly) calling out the bollockless ones, certain coaches basically being told by players that they haven't a fucking clu

Eccles, Bidwell, poss MVE/Binks calling out the other players?

No idea who is that ill disciplined to call out the coaches - whatever you may think of them.

Bassette has the attitude to be involved in this sort of drama, but surely not this new into his time here.

We were out fought by an organised, and physical, Swansea side today. We clearly weren't set up properly, and we had no real plan. Fixable things, it will turn around.

Not sure how Bassette missed that chance to make it 2-2 just had to nod it in but went for a diving header .

Doug has not spent 40 million-a good chunk of this has come from the sale of Vik and Hamer. Our recruitment feels scatter gun over the last 12-18 months, more about resale value rather than what we need to be successful now. Robins might have said in his after match interview today that he is ultimately responsible for everything on the playing side at the club but when it comes to recruitment is he really getting his way? Remember this is a manager who bought In Doyle and Fadz who both did great work for us.

Lots of theories and excuses, personalities and tantrums, fucksake, what happened to a bit of true grit ….but then when you have officials taking players off for a bit of rain and a couple of flashes of lightning what chance have we got for that 🤷‍♂️
He took the Swansea players off as well btw. Officials had nothing to do with us losing. If only we had more bad weather and maybe could have got it abandoned.

Robins rightly insinuating some players weren't playing for their shirt. Wright going off at halftime would suggest he will be dropped for the next one. I know he is a quiet character but he doesn't look like he enjoys playing for us. I expect he may leave in January. Just hope we don't lose too much money on him.

He's doesn't look happy and often comes across as looking very frustrated.

Can't see him being here next season.

If he took the Swansea players off for 10 minutes and left ours on we might have scraped a draw

Even Brighton, the masters of the buy, develop and sell process supplement their team with a few older, experienced players.

Our recruitment is massively overrated.

Remember the days where our recruitment was unreal on a shoe string, take me back

When Robins practically did it himself
Well not quite, we had Badlan scouting a few European leagues. That brought Hamer with it, it also brought in Dacosta and Hilßner.

The difference was that overall most of the squad bought in to what we were doing and the management and coaches could get them drilled to carry it out in games. You had a mix of seasoned professionals and up and coming players who fed off each other to be more than the sum of their parts.

I can see in a few of this summer’s arrivals the right attitude, but they’re outnumbered by players who are trying to hide and hope someone else steps up.

playing one up top especially to home is going to be Robin's downfall its crazy, think regarding the coaching staff, Robin's has surrounded himself with yes men which would be confusing especially to the players

Yeah, it was a flippant comment, and obviously we also had Viveash using his Chelsea contacts but despite being done on a shoestring it brought us success.

Interesting re players telling coaches they haven't got a clue.....
Can't think who has the character to do that ..
Thomas? Kitching?? .....Sheaf!???

I'd say this type of thing is a bit of a worry.....
It's also a worry that new players like BTA are very openly saying they don't want to play the position the have been put in.
There's weakness in the management team.
Robins approach seems to be having some favourites, brooding and dropping people in a huff. That isn't working to motivate.

I agree Bassette appears to be a cocky lad who is also immature. While he looks like he has talent. Did we need to sign someone with a poor attitude when the area we lacked was midfield.
Some on here are saying Kitching (who btw arrived with MVE and Bassette yesterday) is also seemingly a decisive influence!! We need some strong voices in the camp asap.

Makes sense why Robbins was so keen on signing Matty James. A lot of people on here talking about Robins being sacked but would it be such a surprise if Robins was to walk, he can’t be happy with DK’s transfer policy leaving us without any leadership
King really should look at getting someone in to run the club on his behalf.

Yesterday was horrible in so many ways, but what was of concern to me was the atmosphere and chemistry amongst the players seemed to be awful.

The nadir for me was MVE and BTA arguing with each other constantly, including while the ball was in play; their LB was leisurely strolling up the pitch while they were sniping at each other.

Wright's body language was completely off, whether an injury, fatigue or something else he just looked like he didn't want to be there.

To watch a perennially average Championship team walk away with an easy victory on our turf, having not played particularly well, is abysmal. It is clear to everyone that something is going very badly wrong behind-the-scenes and that major changes are needed, fast.

Like everyone else, the constant excuses about the players being tired is wearing thin for me. We aren't the only team in this league who has to deal with cup games and international call-ups, what is going on off the pitch that leads to our players being so perpetually knackered?

To me, a short-term answer is to bin at least one of the new coaches and get in a proper, experienced, talented AM who can give Robins the advice he clearly needs and can motivate the players.
