Exactly. It was questioned and I like others am happy to move on, but some on here keep incessantly asking 'why don't you believe him?' And uttering things like 'cut him some slack!'

It's others who can't move on I would say. I have said on here he should just now leave it in the hands of Hoffman and stop chatting on social media about it.

Move on? Most definitely!! Please do!

It's as if the whole pointing out that he has clearly made some things up is equal to finding him and punching him in the face or something.

It makes it even stranger, even to the point that I wouldn't be surprised if you get the blame if he didn't save the club now because you posted a quote of him saying something that turned out to not have been true.

I can totally understand it is out of order if people were to abuse him, but pointing out he said something that didn't happen is not abuse. Far too many things don't add up in the story, but instead of them being explained or corrected a strange act of "stop abusing him, cut him slack" gets rolled out instead.

Still don't get what?

It keeps getting repeated because people like you and riyad keep saying that it shouldn't be mentioned. Hence it gets mentioned more to explain exactly why there is nothing wrong with it being said.

You still aren't actually making any point at all are you? Otis posted facts, people still keep trying to argue or deny facts, so they get mentioned again in reply to make it simpler and simpler.

Yeah that's my point Otis. It's like all the other guff that has gone before is suddenly unquestionable because he probably has the cash.

I'm trying to agree with you here help me out!

Also after Hoffman gives an interview in the local paper and questions his use of social media he still comes out with a sob story of X factor proportions on Facebook. He needs to just leave the Facebook stuff completely. Until something has been achieved.
Yep, exactly what I said. Sorry for disagreeing about our being in agreement. ;)

His story IS of X Factor proportions. I honestly hope he has exaggerated that, because if not that is some serious level of abuse and can only think it involved some kind of death threats. If it is how he has described it, it is truly awful.

Outta here.

PUSB

So to sum it up.

You have tried to tell people to stop mentioning he made things up, you haven't tried to explain or disprove anything or make a point other than "give him slack" and then give it "outta here".

Like I said, it's all a bit strange.

I'm changing my name to Otis the Deal-breaker as we speak.

Very similar to when Michael from the Trust (or whoever he represented, forgotten now) was offering to pay the rent at the Ricoh. People who asked questions were shot down as saboteurs, SISU lovers, etc. Pathetic, really.

Yep. Just for asking very basic things.

Even then, Michael didn't make such glaring contradictions.

The guys is a complete fake, anyone can see that surely ? There needs to be a law against this type of Bullshite
Would like more clarification from Hoffman to be honest. Evans said his poker win isn't associated with him because he used a username, but on his winning betting slip it says username Dale Evans.

If Hoffman's got any sense he'll keep quiet until this all blows over. Not his problem if Evans is a chancer or not... at the moment.

I see all the usual suspects have crawled out and are ready to slap each other on their backs.
The told you so brigade who have proven absolutely nothing and preen yourselves over a radio interview the guy gave which was unwise or third hand gossip from a "friend" on Facebook."
I'll tell you what's pathetic is a group of people who should be waiting to see the outcome before judging a person and disparaging his character with no first hand knowledge whatsoever.
You can all buy each other a drink and congratulate yourselves that you have yet to be taken in by any of the jokers that tried to buy the club,
Bravo fellas.

Sounds about right, I believe the phrase 'not mugs' springs to mind.

disparaging his character
What is it you don't get?

He went on the radio, that was entirely his decision. He made comments that have proven to be completely false. His story has now changed.

All people are asking for is an explanation of why there are so many inconsistencies in what he himself is saying. That's not down to being unwise or third hand gossip, its things he's said himself.

Most people desperately want something like this to be true but we've been down this road many times before.

This is why it gets repeated constantly.

Why does somebody need to be his best mate to point out something he has said live on air that turned out to be completely made up?

Nobody is saying he has been out stealing cars in the night and making money on the alloys at the scrappy or making things up about him, they are just judging him on his own words. nobody is judging him on anything other than those.

If you don't want people to question what you say on the radio, don't go on the radio!

I'm not sure it's any simpler, it's like the guy on the other thread who added stuff onto the statement and is outraged people have dared to point it out.

If you don't like bullshit being pointed out back to you, don't bullshit.

What is it you don't get? He owes you nothing, I will repeat again give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves he is a fraud and then unleash hell on him.
You gain nothing and lose nothing by doing that.
Third hand gossip is just that and does no credit to this board in my opinion.

It isn't third hand, it's using his own words where he made things up.

It can't be any simpler, he has proven himself to have made things up. His own words have contradicted his other own words.

Why not disprove that and explain what happened there?

It really is that simple and it cannot be put down to mere exuberance or exaggeration . The sent email for instance. Exaggeration or getting carried away would be saying 'I have emailed the offer and got a very positive response from the club and Mark Hornby.'

You cannot exaggerate a forwarded email to the degree of that of having positive talks with the man himself and your wealth manager also having talks with the man himself.'

That's way past exaggerating, cos not one single part of it is true.

We are going round in circles now though. I don't see anyone back slapping or celebrating. I find the whole thing quite sad.

Riyadh unfortunately is the one who just can't let it go and so the merry go round, never-ending loop continues.

No-one will be happy if this Dale guy is proved to be a fantasist I can assure you.

He made an error of judgement, Ffs nobody died, I won't talk for him but I suspect he had a boner about having the cash and looking to buy his club.
Cast the first stone by all means but who are you to judge? I will say this though you guys didn't shove the knife in his back, you went straight to the front and buried the guy.
Perfect, all of you, perfect.

I think you are still missing the obvious.

It wasn't an error of judgement, it was making things up.

The knife was his own words.

Why are you now making out it is people's fault for pointing it out? The guy went on the radio and clearly made things up, that's his fault. Nobody elses.

I am still baffled and confused about if you are on a wind up or just clinging on to that much hope? You want people to cut him slack, but you keep strangely flogging something only you can see.

I don't remember Pete Waterman trying to buy the club at all, nor that crowdfunding thing, were they big news and I've just become numb to it? I distinctly remember hearing the Manhattan thing had fallen through on whatever day it was in 2007 and thinking we were absolutely fucked.

And you were absolutely correct.

We were fucked then and we are still fucked now.

There's only one person keeping this going, and it's you.

He went on the radio, spouted some bollocks, people said he spouted some bollocks.

What's to debate?!?
