Thought about and would have years ago but not now, I would be a terrible investor/owner and couldn’t be bothered with the day to day shit and fans saying keep investing you tight arse.
Gold, Frankenstein and Grrrrr.
Somebody must get this one!.....
Robins sets the criteria for choosing the players and had the final say over them signing. Robins never expressed any view at all that he didn't want any of the players signed, did he?Exactly. The players were not the choice of Robins.
Are you happy with the players brought in?
That's similar to my question earlier? The recruitment is being viewed in the context of signing those players, which was an exceptional event. Is it really that bad?The problem lies with us being spoilt with 2-3 genius players that don’t come along that often to a Championship team. With their sales, I thought we added greater depth that was missing but special players are just that, they transform teams and whilst I think a good squad now that can deal with injuries or suspensions, it’s not great and none of the potentials have stepped up to be better than we maybe hoped for and sadly, it’s missing that one who can lead or drag us up the league.
picking out previous recruits by Austin comparing them to predecessors is pointless, previous ones appointed Kasteneer and Jobello along with an asthmatic German, under Robins we signed and no doubt, under Lampard, we will continue to sign some shockers, not sure what’s different now other than our expectations and money
Not like that poster to create an alternative reality. It's been shown so many times on here that Robins had final say on players. Don't choose to ignore that. It's not about blame, just don't try and rewrite history.
I'm not happy with the performance of the squad this season, whoever signed them or chose them. I do think most are better than results are showing.

If anything it seems like he personally wanted a couple of them.
He certainly wanted Dasilva. Clearly palmer. It seems BTA as well and Simms.

Funny you chose the post where mmttww was inventing his own reality there.
"But this is different now because it’s set up in a different way and it’s how I wanted it to be."
Taken from the same article you quoted. Robins was working in the way he wanted, with someone he wanted to work with. He and Austin are on the block for where we are, for better or worse.
Viveash will have argued for Palmer and Dasilva. He certainly wanted Dasilva. Clearly palmer. It seems BTA as well and Simms.
Viveash will have argued for Palmer and Dasilva.
That would be a very good reason for Robins and him to fall out. Add Collins into it and it becomes even more believableViveash will have argued for Palmer and Dasilva.
Gyokeres.
So those 3 were that wonderful signings that between them they have played less minutes this season than Sheaf has done on his own. That is the most frustrating part that we pissed so much money up the wall but there were players available on a free such as Browne, McCallum and Tyrese Campbell.
Our summer recruitment compared to the likes of Sheff Utd is chalk and cheese and I even remember getting frustrated we wouldn’t spend a couple of mil on the likes of Cooper or Burrows but we’d be happy to spend it on dross.
The issue isn’t really who has the last say. The issue is that we are operating in a rigid wage structure. You can identify as many players as you want but the crunch comes when you only have a certain top offer. You get the likes of Stamenic going elsewhere. You obviously have to find players who will accept less which in general means they aren’t as good. That’s not really the fault of the scout or the manager

Yeah I agree I’m just being a twat, for me responsibility is hard to know as we have no idea how it works as such would blame Mark, Doug and Dean.I agree Austin should go for his role in this, but the strategy for building a squad goes beyond just him. Surely MR, King and others didn’t sit down and decide not to have a blend of youth and experience?
Wait, you can just sack your head of recruitment? Has anyone told Doug?
Foregone conclusion that one surely. If they're best mates as many on here will have you believe and Austin only has a job because of Robins then he will follow him Stoke as part of his team.
Austin’s role is to identify targets based on what others have said they’re after. He wouldn’t have much say over how the squad should be composed, which would surely be more Robins/King.Yeah I agree I’m just being a twat, for me responsibility is hard to know as we have no idea how it works as such would blame Mark, Doug and Dean.
He thinks central midfield is a strength in this ‘deck’. Sums his opinions up.I think King is responsible for the lack of loans an experience just based on his comments at the forum and how opinionated he is on the squad.
1000%, seems it's Kings fault we are also short of quality in central midfield.I think King is responsible for the lack of loans an experience just based on his comments at the forum and how opinionated he is on the squad.
Is Badlan going there then.
