You’re missing the point, why pick that number when you, I and anyone associated with education know that’s it’s a spurious and ultimately meaningless amount that won’t touch the sides in fixing the problem. It wouldn’t even cover a quarter of the loss to the profession each year.It’ll fix a problem
It’s a pledge card, not a manifesto. He’s not literally going to put a one line bill in front of Parliament is he?
If he was going to make a vague meaningless gesture than I’d rather he say ‘an overhaul of the teacher training model to recruit and retain teachers, to fix the education crisis’
