I bet she did

  • The UK continues to challenge China on areas of disagreement, with the Chancellor raising concerns over China’s support for Russia’s illegal war, domestic interference and sanctions against British parliamentarians.
I am sure they will listen

The economy is stagnating - especially in the small and medium industrial sectors.

The increased NI and minimum wage (which will create demands elsewhere) means companies will look to cut jobs, reduce hiring and increase costs. I have had two letters this week from fairly well established companies going into receivership. Growth has stopped and costs are rising as a direct result of the budget,

Chancellor marks £600m of secure growth for UK economy in Beijing

Transpires it’s only £120m a year over 5 years despite most seeing to have taken it to be £600m a year.

Everything I’ve seen has said 600m over five years. See me and wingy discussing this earlier in the thread. If you misunderstood that’s not anyone else’s fault.

It is though?

You don’t have to believe the media framing just because it’s not Corbyn.

The treasury always tells people to be ruthless in cutting. It’s the treasury, that’s its job. The entire Reeves in trouble framing is made up out of whole cloth.

What is worse even these rules assume some growth but there is no economic strategy which will actually result in any growth.

Well exactly, as was always going to be the case. Some deluded ideas of spare spending capacity within the economy. Just completely ignorant of the accumulated impact of the cost of living on businesses and households.

Its pretty grim from where I am sitting. Councils are also hiking rentals circa 40% on some of the short term leaseholds on expiry. If this carries on it will look very grim indeed.

I see Reeeves has just returned from China where they humiliated her by agreeing a paltry £600m in deals. Why on earth did she bother to go?

No industrial growth is declining and the government has increased punitive costs to business - how will that actually create growth in your view?

No matter how much you complain or who you vote for you are never going to get the treasury to throw out economic orthodoxy and adopt MMT.

The treasury already does adopt MMT, it's a description of how spending actually works as backed up by the Bank of England paper (Money creation in the modern economy).

A Bill that will take rights from parents to do what's best for their child! Is the intention for the state to become the parent?

The pre election lies and dissembling.

The post election targeting of pensioners in a complete about face from what they saying to make political capital, before the election.

The general two faced approach

The complete lack of oratorical skills of Starmer, Reeves and Rayner.

What seems a lack of conviction and certainly lack of inspiration when attempting to explain or justify what they are doing / proposing.

The contradictions- we need to build new houses / there is plenty of housing (Rayner).

Have you read the child exploitation inquiry findings
Every one of the children had run away from home and had not been turning up for school
won’t affect parents where children are actually attending school
Have a friend who home schools who doesn’t home school at all
Feel for the kids
