Do you want to discuss boring politics? (29 Viewers)

I find it very weird that you hate anyone that gets into government left or right.
In my time as a member on here we've had a Tory government and a few months of this Labour one, so it's not a huge sample size really.

It isn't necessarily about who they are, it's about what they do. Currently the government isn't really doing much if anything that I support.

How can you be surprised that I'm not keen on a government given my obvious preferences.

The point is unregulated and unobserved “schooling” isn’t best for your child.
In all circumstances?

Even if you can’t get your child in to a local school when the private one your child attended has closed because of significant additional taxation in the name of collectivism.

So, what I’ve been saying since time began, each new government are as corrupt as the government it replaces.
Tulips gone, what will Sir do next
I fucking hate politics, they will literally sell their soul to the devil himself to say the right things to get elected.
Corrupt bastards each and everyone one of them.
Can’t wait for this growth the current lit bang on about, don’t worry, do as the last lot did, just blame the last government for everything for for the next 4/5 years.
Rinse and repeat

I mean I thought you were left wing, yet your rhetoric suggests you’re right wing. I think you just like moaning tbh.

Yeah in all circumstances. You can get your child into a state school because your local authority has a legal obligation to your child.

But sure let’s just make some more nonsense up to justify being grumpy at everything for no reason.

Finally some better economic news for Reeves. Needed as things were unravelling

Let’s hope it’s not because the wheels have already come off and an economic downturn is feeding through into inflation figures (probably not, bit too soon)

Lads, if you voted for possibly the dumbest ever economic move, I’d probably stay a bit quiet on economics.

In what way were things unravelling?

Bond/gilt yields have recently gone through the roof (due to global affects not just U.K. economy/government policy), the additional government borrowing costs have removed all of Reeves headroom, markets are still unconvinced of medium term growth prospects so without taking action (increased taxes or cuts - both also negatively impacting growth) markets would’ve lost even more confidence, thereby increasing borrowing costs further….thats what I meant by unravelling

If inflation remains higher for longer, Bank of England would delay reducing rates, the longer they stay higher, without there being decent growth, the more they would stifle the economy. Hence it being good news today

It’s such a fine tightrope Reeves/the government are walking I do have some sympathy but theres also been some policy decisions that have made it harder for themselves

Yes the Uniparty. Its days are numbered.

I think they may achieve what they've set as the target,, we'll all be happy to work for peanuts if you will, they are doing the work of the devil..
Lower wage by fear, relatively A healthy unemployment rate unemployment, and company failures,of course I could be wrong, but I'm sure the evidence is there.

I did ask you what aspects of the budget do you believe were targeted at achieving economic growth?
Arguably most of it was going to achieve the opposite.

Current performance seems somewhat QED.

Just had another look at it. I’m sure @shmmeee will be thrilled that Elton’s kids will be getting a free breakfast. Won’t these free breakfasts cost more than the WFA?
Yep Marxist cull of the population following the facist Hancock model of culling the old peoples homes

Elton’s kids aren’t millionaires. Elton is. Nice try though.

My daughters school is part of the scheme already being in Bedworth and it’s literally a staff member stood with a box of cold dry bagels offering them to kids as they walk in.

Checked the numbers and this is a cost of about £600m a year or about a third of the savings from WFA.

It could have been worse, they should have been in their own abode's and released them to market force's?
This isn't a serious view.

U.S. CPI* also slightly better than expected. Good news again. Might help bond yields further as ours seem to have followed US of late. Might also help to weaken dollar a little which could give pound/other currencies a bump

*edit - core was better

How's that looking, have the Chinese just released that US debt or something?

Not sure I understand Wingy ? Think China has been selling some U.S. bonds recently

Hopefully if their yields (borrowing rates) come down a bit so will ours as we fish in the same pond for international investors/buyers of bonds
