Do you want to discuss boring politics? (22 Viewers)

You’ve never had a good one. Served warm in a restaurant it’s a completely different dish to getting a pack from the fridge aisle in Tesco.

I don't care what your politics are, but I'm here to say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with a Tesco's scotch egg (as long as you've got some salt). Or a Gregg's sausage roll, or a Pot Noodle for that matter. Do you lads actually come from Coventry? 😁

I love all that food, just saying scotch egg in a restaurant is different level so don’t write it off.

I don’t laud anyone I just personally think people who make money off the profits of murdering sentient beings are slightly odd people
I also think people who make vast sums of money off the exploitation of other people are slightly odd.

And what about arable farmers?

Oh, there's quite a lot of those higher up in things like TU's who I'm incredibly sceptical of their motives.

But your favourite party puts exploitation front and centre of policy and window dresses it. Shit loads of money at the top. Those lower down get to scrape by while doing most of the work. But hey - jobs! Economic growth!

Perfectly normal thing to do in a perfectly normal and non-corrupt country….

Sneaked in while everybody else was looking elsewhere. Shameful.

I thought everybody in government was 'drinking after work working round the clock' on Ukraine?

What a shambles!

Might as well give Waghorn a peerage for his contribution to top flight footer (or whatever the Prime Minister calls it).

Labour hold in the by election yesterday.

Low turnout but majority almost doubled.

Hard to tell anything on that one.

Need to wait for the local elections in May where according to the cycle some Labour MPs in 2018 said it was a disaster for Labour etc.

We do I think regarding this crises also decide if the leader of the opposition is actually what he seems

Many may not be aware so I consider it my duty to point it out that Mr Starmer or “Comrade” Starmer was like Blair a radical Marxist in his youth who was trying along with the radical left to force Neil Kinnock to adopt hard left policies from the labour arm of the party that had direct links with the KGB

Interesting that some people think Mr Starmer would be a fitting person to cross swords with Mr Putin

Starmer is a weathervane - you can be sure wherever he is politically this week it will have changed in a month or two…. Murdoch will see to it I’m sure.

Wow what a shock, you side with the pro-Russian Stop the War coalition.

Err...what?
Being anti-war and (rightly) questioning the wider role of NATO does not make the STW "pro-russian"!

Deary me!

The article also makes some good points regarding the nowhere man Starmer....

....in fact, STW always raise some very salient and often uncomfortable home truths that many struggle with....pointing out the glaring hypocrisy of the western alliance is always a trigger....especially amongst the coffee table socialists and the more shouty social media "liberals" I find.....

....Mr. starmer should take notes.....at least they stand for something.

Of course being anti war does not make you pro Russian.

But this lot have explicitly blamed NATO, put no blame at Russia's door and accept Crimea as part of Russia.

Funny to see Grendel now siding with Jeremy Corbyn though

Did you read the STW statement?

It was appalling.

As I say, very surprising to see you siding with Mr Corbyn.

Less surprising is your use of offensive insults. Disgusting.

Saying the STW coalition is pro-Putin is sensationalist and actually deeply unhelpful. They have valid criticism of Western foreign policy, and whilst I wouldn’t have waded in on NATO at this particular juncture personally, there are salient points in there.

Also, whilst you’re dogpiling into Corbyn, remember that he has spoken out more about the negative influence of dirty Russian money in British politics than anyone else… despite Starmer’s best effort to imply that he was the inventor of such a notion.

Being anti war can only be a good thing.

But their statement on this conflict and some of their other literature on it is awful and clearly carries a pro Russian stance

I'm not saying every member or everyone who has attended the protests is pro Russian, of course. The vast, vast, majority will be there for all the right reasons.

You see what’s happening in Ukraine… NATO exists in today’s world to stop Russia land grabbing parts of ex-Soviet republics and installing regimes that are pro-Russian.

If Russia can dominate Ukraine, then what chance do the likes Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia have?

Stop The War is a naive organisation. You have to be able to stand up to aggressors like Putin with force.

You have stated a group with a pre existing raison d'etre are a "pro Putin" group when the evidence is there that they're exactly just anti war.

But there is also evidence that they are pro Russia.

I'm not saying they started up as a pro Russia group!

They're anti war, that's a good thing, no issue with that of course. My issue is with the awful statement they put out at the start of this conflict.
