To be fair I think May and Truss were from local comps….they’re probably not a ringing endorsement for public education though !!! I agree in an ideal world it would be great to move away from the Oxford graduate PMs but that shouldn’t diminish it being a positive moment for the country to have its first Asian PM
Fucking hell what is he doing.
Braverman back in as Home Sec just days after she resigned/was sacked for breaching ministerial code.
Gordon Brown state educated in leafy Kirkcaldy, went on to Edinburgh a year early, represented his home constituency thereafter etc. The last statesman to hold the office and to be honest a more meaningful success story than the latest Tory to be handed a level of privilege that most people white or otherwise can but dream of.
Coffey to environment.
Only right given her comments to nurses and the shortage of them.
I was joking about May and Truss and state education (Im from a comp). Agree, Brown was probably the last statesman we’ve had as PM. I do see Sunak as a bit different to the Eton boys though
Yeah she has a touch of the Prescott's about her.She strikes me as an old polluting Jag driver so could be a decent fit again
Corrected for you.She strikes me as an cigar chomping old polluting Jag driver so could be a decent fit again
There's some bizarre appointments. Its not like Braverman was any good at the job, she was truly appalling. Raab back to justice is even more bizarre, he was a complete fuck up in that role and things didn't get sorted until someone else came in to clear his mess up.Fucking hell what is he doing.

I know he needs to appease the right of the party but fuck me is he trying to beat Truss' record for shortest serving PM?!
So many Johnson cabinet members as well, very easy attack line for labour.
But also a sad indictment of politics and our way of governance that such important roles are filled not by knowledge or intelligence but personal ambition and private gentlemen's agreements.A really valid point

Thankfully for the most part it's civil servants doing the actual work that these people are responsible for
Well it was until this lot started their war on the civil service.
BSB, what are your thoughts on yet another Secretary of State for EducationGood decision to do that just as we want to write all this brand new world beating legislation
