Doubt it. Seemed to be playing quite regularly (and getting a few goals) in the last few games. Think he'll be a fixture of their squad this year unless they make some incredible signings.Loan ?
He scored 7 in 17 last year for Sunderland and their fans were saying he was getting better before being recalled by Everton - how is that essentially a Prem U23?
He was on to match Gyok's goalscoring record in his first full season with us and is younger & English. Would anyone have sold Gyok for 7m last summer?
The fee is inflated paper talk anyway (same as Gyok for 25m) - he'll probably go for 5m-6m which isn't that crazy.
It is all irrelevant anyway as we won't be paying it even for half the fee being banded about.
It does make me wonder how Everton didn’t see fit to use their £7-10m rated striker more in their relegation battle last season.
Agree with this. You guys are weird. After the sale of Gyokeres we will be cash rich and first team light. We are linked with one of the most sought after players available to championship teams right now and some of you seem troubled about the rumoured cost? That's not what normal fans do, right?? It's like you've walked into M&S seen the price of the suits and gone 'What? I could get a wardrobe full of sweat pants for that in Primarni!' Surely we just want the best players possible playing for our team?
Reality is even in a straight swap (which ain't happening) we would be exchanging a guy with 1 year on his contract who doesn't want to be here for a hungry striker 2 years his junior tied down for 3/4 years. IF this is the man Robins wants - get it done. If we break our transfer record after nearly 20 years - that is exciting. Still plenty of time to bring in a few cheap centre backs and loan signings.

I don’t understand what’s weird about not wanting us to spunk our entire budget on one signing at a price that seems overly inflated? You guys are weird. Us being interested in Simms is hearsay.I don’t understand what’s weird about not wanting us to spunk our entire budget on one signing at a price that seems overly inflated?
We need to sign 10+ players. Spending all our money on Simms and then scrimping around for the rest us a recipe for disaster. What if Simms doesn’t end up fitting our system (see Tyler Walker)? We should be trying to move away from relying as heavily on two players like we did last season, not replicating it by making one big money signing and ignoring the rest of the holes.
Us being interested in Simms is hearsay.
The price we should pay is hearsay.
Our budget for next season is hearsay.
But if Robins was after him and signed him he would have my backing. Just like a 1m signing on fee for Hamer to take up a 3 year contract on a lower wage. This is also hearsay but would put more value on him.
Some players/positions are worth spending more money on than others. There's a good chance a few loans are under discussion. We already have some decent players. But hardly any of us if any at all have a clue what is going on.
This is it exactly, the meltdowns on here over what is just rumour, and very likely inaccurate in detail even if they have some truth, is worrying.Us being interested in Simms is hearsay.

Scrimping and relying on two players got us to within a penalty shootout of the premier league last season. The main thing we will need when Gyokeres goes is goals. There are no guarantees and I'm not even certain we are in for him but this guy is linked with a big move for a reason.I don’t understand what’s weird about not wanting us to spunk our entire budget on one signing at a price that seems overly inflated?

Speculation about how that leaves our budgets for other players is just speculation but if we go off reported figures Simms is just over a third of the Gyokeres fee. If you pin down his replacement early you can maybe afford to gamble with some of the rest and it will signal our intent to potential signings.
The key thing here is that on paper he improves our squad. There is no other player obviously available who is better. If we want him, we have the money and we go out and get him it would be a bold move from us and we should get behind it.
But we're not just in need of a suit or sweatpants - we need underwear, shirts and shoes as well. It's all very well buying the fancy suit then realising your feet are bleeding because you can't afford any shoes,You guys are weird. Wharton looks a hell of a talentSimms potentially going to Blackburn as part of a swap deal for Scott Wharton.
If we are going to buy the right players, buy wisely, then you have to accept that said players aren't always available in the timescale you'd like. It's not ideal but it is what it is.There is clearly a lot of negative bullshit being written on here. However, the players that go to Portugal need to bond and we need numbers through the door by then. If that does not happen, then I for one will start to worry. I accept loans may be delayed but, we need bodies ready to go, as you cannot throw a team together at the last minute. If we have no signings, then DK or the recruitment team must take the responsibility. No one wants a Hillsner or a DaCosta but where are the Hamers, the Sheafs or the O'Hares? We have a lowish budget but we did in the past and bought well. Surely, with our record of developing players, we are attractive to young up-and-coming players.
tbf what we always seemed to do differently under Robins to other SISU managers was get the players in quickly... until last season at least! What I really don't understand is we've been in this exact position many times before but we e always by and large trusted MR to get on with it, bat a few habitual moaners. Struggling to see why SBT is so universally negative this time

He genuinely means ScottThink you're thinking of the wrong one. The lad last season who got all the rave reviews was Adam Wharton, Rovers' 19 yr old midfielder. Scott is his 25 yr old brother who is a CB at Rovers.
But can't see Rovers keen to sell. Although Scott seemed to be an ever present, Rovers only have Hyam, Ayala or another kid, 23 yr old Hayden Carter to cover.

In case you get run over coming out of M & S and you have to go to A & E.I get the shoes, but why do you need underwear?
Fuck me you moan about everything haha. He would be a good signing, at least hes young, scored goals before and English.Just seen that
Reputable bloke aswell 78k followers
Not keen tbh if its really the reported 6million
More likely to get Watkins money than with Vik.Would be a great signing. Gives us 2 seasons and he’ll be the next Vik. Big money.
