If we are being 100% honest .

We've had 2 tournaments in a row with favourable runs and one where the final was at home.

We got it wrong in both the semi in 2018 and this final .

We HAVE to learn , nobody remembers the runners up

At the same time youth is on their side and they’ve come 3 competent penalties away from winning. Mancini was let off the hook, he had no ideas first half as were the OAPs in that defence. The problem on our side is the job is such a low priority for ambitious managers it’s twice as important for Southgate to learn from his mistakes

Meh, we can all make tongue in cheek jokes, Rose will probably never play at international level for a team who never gets close to winning anything.

One thing that really stands out for me is the way the Italians came back from an early blow to get back in it and dominate us. Even when they were 1 down and being chased down they still passed it around with accuracy, no matter how tight the space was. We resorted to hoofing it or giving it straight back when we finally got the ball. This panicked mindset needs to be analysed and changed. We have got the ability to pass it around but we need to be calm and boss, not bossed by others.

Best four got to the semis. Best two got to the final. Best one won. Classy by them at the end when our players got their medals. Nice touch
