I went on internet safety training some years ago. One of the things the trainer said that as a society we just handed over access to the internet to our kids - without any real thought about how this might develop. They can occupy whole worlds that parents have no access to or knowledge of.
I’d go as far as to say it’s taken children’s innocence away considering how young some are when handed a smartphone without much restriction. Open to all kinds of things and a parent won’t realise.
The kind of bullying that happens now will only turn physical at the end of harassment on whatever social media platforms someone’s on. Some of the stuff I’ve seen in my school from Year 7 alone would genuinely shock you.
