It’s a mess we all know that.

But the prats on Twitter arguing with the admin. Christ.
Tbf the admin is the mouthpiece of the club and the only way of communicating. I was given a customer services email address and you receive a generic response saying they will answer within 2 weeks!

Because people who have already paid and did so in the belief their orders would be supplied first haven’t received them.

I also suspect that as people still haven’t had dispatch emails that the stock still isn’t available.

Out of the clubs hands.

Doug is saying the majority of preorders have been fulfilled. That simply can’t be true, unless they are prioritising customers who don’t post on this forum or Twitter.

He also says they wont sell any shirts in the store before all pre orders are fulfilled........

I have had no emails despite ordering on the release date. 2 mates have theirs but another who got the despatch email a week ago saying delivery last Friday or Saturday still hasn’t received anything.

Which bit is out of the clubs hands, exactly?

The comms is very much in control of the club, as is the process by which they release the stock (when it finally arrives).

It seems fair to me that you release first to the people who've already paid for stuff, and were promised it ages ago.

If a delivery van breaks down or Hummel send shirts late, I'm not sure what the club can do.

The comms is absolutely an issue but people would be angry regardless.

I wouldn't be angry if I got a sensible 'in time' reply from the club, rather than 8 days of an automated system saying 'pending review'

Has anybody here who ordered on the 14th had a despatch email yet? Surely if they have been 'working tirelessly' to clear the backlog since the middle of this week some of us must have had some joy?

Maybe not having a ton of shirts sitting out for a shop opening might help. letting the 200 buy shirts of the rack when pre orders havent been fulfilled is asking for trouble.

It's a completely different batch of shirts.

Why should the club turn down money because a delivery van hasn't arrived?

Because of that view, people cannot buy shirts tomorrow when the club have them ready in the shop.

I doubt it was a separate batch. Someones made a cock up with the ordering and its arse covering time.

The pre ordered shirts supposedly arrived on Tuesday yet have any been dispatched ?. they could have swapped them for the shop stock

As someone who has worked in retail. you want to prioritise pre orders. refunds and unhappy customers cost a lot more than selling a few to make a quick buck.

The whole saga could have been avoided with better and honest coms from the club.

This is what i dont get

The club themselves have tweeted shop stock is seperate

So why can we not just go and buy one? They will literally just be sat there

It is. When you order something from an online store, they don't collect it from the rails and package it up. It's a separate entity.

Those who have order will have theirs delivered, hence why they can't give you one from the store tomorrow. You'd end up with two.

It's literally because people moaned unfortunately. To keep the pre-order brigade happy, they've taken them off sale.

The club shop isn't listed as a separate entity. For a single store it's quite common to share stock.

They club has no dispatched yet. so could easily do a voucher swap for customers wanting to collect rather than now wait for the post.

It really isn't difficult. retailers do it all the time.

I do think it's stupid taking them off sale.

In my experience, the way to minimise customer issues is to get the comms right. It's about being open, honest, and fair to people, especially when things have gone wrong.

The club consistently screw up on this, and people are understandably annoyed. Thinking people should just shut up and put up with it because they're supporters isn't living in the real world, imho.

Season ticket holders and people who are willing to commit to advance orders for kit are your key customers, and deserve nothing less than the best service.

The club don't need defending, and people with reasonable complaints shouldn't be criticised.

The club need to be aware there's an issue and they need to put a proper process in place to stop it happening in the future. It's definitely not out of their hands and the problem here is more than just a van breaking down.

The bit that doesn't make sense timeline wise is

If the lorry had arrived on Friday. I doubt anything would have been processed till Tuesday (unless it arrived lunchtime at latest).

So dispatch late Tuesday/Wednesday. With delivery Friday at the earliest. So the club store would have had them at the same time.

The shirts in the lorry will not be the shirts they have in store. Equally, they are not the shirts the players will be wearing.

I'm gonna head down and just try and buy it anyway

What they gonna do if you rock up with say 3 shirts and want to hand over £150? No? I highly doubt that

Nothing for us but i do know someone that ordered on the 14th and received their shirts. I think they arrived last week, regardless there are certainly some being delivered.

The 'pre order brigade' are your low cost, high value, loyal customers, who are paying up front for stuff.

Pissing them off is stupid, expensive, and probably impacts an easy income stream next season when some will hold off buying this way. This could clearly have been handled far, far better. I don't get the endless need to make excuses for the club.

Correct, bur where are those shirts now? Where did the lorry break down? Presumably a replacement lorry sent swap the stock over and complete the onward journey. If it was genuine the replacement vehicle should have been with them by the time the comms came out 4 days later, which means it was total bollocks.

I can’t even find an order acknowledgement email from 14 July despite the money having gone from my account.

Not sure but they are not the shirts sat on the rails in the club store

Absolutely but let's make not pretend the reason people cannot buy shirts tomorrow is because of the sheer outrage by those who pre-ordered.

They will tell you that you cannot buy it until the fans who pre-ordered get theirs.

When you ask why you can't just spend £150 on 3 shirts that are in front of you, they'll explain that they'll get abused at on twitter.

Nope, just had an email (I have sent lots of people lots of emails!!!) apologising for not sending my order - and they listed an order that wasn't even mine! (Rather worryingly!!!!!)

I have two from 14th July still outstanding and processing!

Despite the comms from the club last night stating the majority of orders had been fulfilled, I don't know anybody, or have seen anybody over Twitter or FB (or on here) that have had a despatch since "truck -gate" on Tuesday!!!

As I've said before, i think the club are being shafted (and lied to!) by the retail partner!!
