There seems to be a big suggestion of reduced ticket pricing. Is this the norm? I can't remember the cost for the Chelsea game. I'd be surprised if they went lower than twenty quid for what will be a guaranteed decent crowd.

The one thing the club have done well over the past 3/4 seasons is reducing tickets when there is a chance of a big crowd e.g. Ricoh return, the semi-finals of the Checkatrade and JPT.

I'd love to see that money more evenly spread. Why does a PL team need 1.8 million for winning the FA Cup? Or a semi final loser need 450k? - they've already been rewarded for winning the quarter final. By the latter stages for the big teams it's about silverware not money anyway so make it a Million winners, 500k Semi win and final runner up, remove semi final loser , 250k quarter final win. That's 3,340,000 more to share out without even adding to the budget. The prize for Fourth Round Qualifying winners (reaching the 1st round) and Second Round Proper winners (reaching the 3rd round) should be much higher.

Fucking hate the greed in the modern game.

Why don't you have a look at the accounts for those years instead of rolling out this tired rubbish again. You'll see. No evidence that any of it went in SISU's back pocket

But I suggest there is evidence not a lot if any found it’s way to the football side of things, the evidence being we are in division 4, two divisions below Burton, one division below Fleetwood, lower than Accrington none of whom were in the football league when Sepalla and crew took over.
DIVISION FOUR !!! And despite our 45000 pilgramige to Wembley last year couldn’t afford a non league centre forward ffs!

We bought a non league centre forward didn't we?

Why is it that people like you who rant and moan seem to always know the least?

Different beast though this I'd suggest. Stoke guarantees a certain level of attendance whereas I'd say the checkapaintpot trophy games didn't.

Who the fuck are you to refer “people like you” Do you know me ? I’ve seen you and I think you look like a classic case of being a bit of a geeky type yoghurt knitter.

I disagree. Had it been United at home I'd understand, but this is the sort of game where locals turn up if it's cheap.

As in people who shout and rant a lot but don't really know anything they are ranting about as they repeatedly show. I don't need to know you to know that you post things that show you don't know what you are ranting about. That's why I posted based on your posts on here rather than saying "yeah you drive a shit car" or "you have a big belly".

You must have seen me when I was wearing my glasses, jumper and in full hippy mode with dreads. It was just a phase. Quite a compliment to be called geeky though, that's a good look nowadays.

A great draw in my opinion. A Premier League club at home, a good attendance too. They are struggling at the moment with many Stoke fans wanting Hughes out. But they have some quality players and should be too strong for us whatever team he sends out.But as we know its on the day and we could cause an upset ?
As for fans not bothering to turn up that's up to them, but some wouldn't go if we were playing Stoke Aldermoor at the Ricoh !

Live televised games in the third round pay £144,000. Not sure it this is shared between the two clubs

Exactly. If it were Chelsea or Arsenal or Man City or United, the ground would be full of Coventry locals supporters wanting 'their' glory team to win.

Hardly going to be full of local Stokies for this tie, so more likely more local fans and fans who could potentially come back again as City fans if we were to win and put on a good show.

All depends on whether you want the draw to maximise income or whether you want us to progress as far as possible.
Not a bad draw at all in terms of income...yes we could have got United away etc but equally could have got another poorly supported league 2 outfit away.
As for can we progress?...much harder; they are a solid premier league team with enough quality players to cause anyone difficulty. However we are at home, they will rest a few probably, and if we start well their following could turn on Hughes. I think a draw more likely than a victory but fingers crossed.
As I’ve said before there will be an upset somewhere. Perhaps that weekend we will be headline giantkillers rather than suffer the usual loss to a team a few divisions below.
I’m looking forward to it. A fairly packed Ricoh, good atmosphere, a few premier league ‘stars’ and hopefully a sky blues victory.

Didn't realise that Stoke City were in the top flight all the way up to 1985 where they went down and we stayed up. They've got a slightly better record head to head than us (29 wins to 26).

Knowing our luck, Hughes will get the sack in December and we will get a hammering on the back of a 'new manager bounce'.
Still happy with the draw, will be nice for my kids to see the Ricoh with more fans than empty seats.

Gets a like for having the neck to trot that one out Otis. What happened to the big garden?
We got gazumped by someone with more money.

We put in an offer of £110,000 and they offered the full asking price of £2.5m.

Bleeding royals!
