One of the main attractions of Lampard would be he network of loan players. But Doug has seemingly banned loan players for Mark Robins.

does this mean Lampard has been promised money to buy players? Or has DK changed his policy ?
Or maybe there was never a ban on loan players in the first place

Agree. Getting to the stage where will be disappointed if its not Frank Lampard.
You simply can not dispute his football p

You couldn't dispute Peter Reids or terry butchers either
Football has evolved a lot since then so hard to compare. We’ve got to hope that he’s been out getting ideas from different people and not sitting on his arse since being out of a job. If there are any egos in our team as has been suggested, he’s got experience of dealing with that by managing at a higher level. If we do appoint him, we have to get behind him.

Sure , but come the first bad patch (which happens under all managers ) will supporters be demanding change again

Most supporters weren't demanding a change (in manager) this time

Look I can understand why some fans like the idea of Lampard. It’s been a long time as a club since we have been linked to big footballing “names” such as his. I just don’t think he fits with our DNA as a club whatsoever.

we’ve got where we have being underdogs, building something where we aren’t the flashiest name, but with a good group who knows there identity. I don’t want to be all over sky coverage as “Frank Lampards Coventry City”

The problem is - once we became stable and starting spending money whilst maintaining one of the biggest gates in the league. We stopped being underdogs.

I always think that Robins the best the siege manager out there. But in recent years the clubs profile has changed

So what is our DNA and identity?

Young Lampard took loads of shit from West Ham fans in his early career.
Think they slagged him off for his fitness/weight. He came thro all that to become arguably the greatest goal scoring midfielder the prem has seen. I think the stats bear that out.
He will of been grafting to be the best he can be as a manager. Imo. It won't be for the want of trying. I am sure he will of interviewed well. Now he & we need points.

Completely agree that we’ve got where we are being underdogs. Now the expectation from everyone around the championship is that we should be around the play offs with some fans expecting us to be top 2 at the start of the season. The circumstances that has led to Robins success has ultimately been his downfall

Being a player and a manager is a totally different situation and is a pointless argument mentioning his playing days

I agree about being that. I don't want any manager where it turns into their Coventry city.

Aren't we trying to get away from being under dogs though? The only time we should really be under dogs now is cup drawers and if we get to the premier league. Not Derby or Swansea at home.

He doesn’t strike me as Wayne Rooney does ie someone who relied on natural talent then struggles to get things across to weaker players.

For some of his faults he does speak well about the game, is level headed and will have learnt a lot from his jobs to date. Equally, I just think the problems we have got here will be too much for him to solve.

I mentioned it because his attitude was questioned. To go from being "Fat Frank " to an undeniable Chelsea legend tells me he is made of the right stuff.
Hopefully his early managerial career transforms in the same way as his playing career.

Well some were , and let's not forget the emotional attachment is gone so fans won't be as lenient
Some always do. Obvs don't have stats to back this up (aside from 3 polls) but I suspect Robins had higher levels of support than most championship managers.

What real life is that?
I'm in City WhatsApp groups, work at a place with a lot of Skyblues and play 5 a side with predominantly Sky Blues supporters.
And I can tell you now, there is an incredible amount of anger equal to that on here and on social media.

I'm not sure where this real world is away from the bubble I must be living in

And I have to add, if King gets this call wrong, then the “rObIns oUT” crew, well I hope they’re happy let’s put it that way.

A squad that’s heavily imbalanced and is full of weak minded players

Sub standard coaches working out of their specialism

A fan base now hostile towards the owner because a club legend has been unceremoniously sacked

Could go on

I’m not advocating Lampard but if he’s achieved anything in his short managerial career it has been to successfully assimilate young players into his teams…. ….

They were not weak minded against WOLVES, United, Leeds , Leicester, Luton recently. They are inconsistent and lacking in confidence.

They need help on the field with the odd experienced head and some formation and team selection consistency.

They are both fixable.

The new head coach will bring some coaching support with him I;m sure, it may not be instant, But that’s normally what happens.

As a fan base we have a choice as to how wee behave. We can stay angry or we can support the new coach.

They pick and choose their performances and largely turn it on in games where either nothing is at stake or nothing is expected from them. They argue with each other on the pitch more often than I can remember from any City team.

Case in point they win 2 games, think they’re shit hot and then turn in that crap on Wednesday. Weak.
