That's a recruitment failure in my book. And if its true, I seen it on here but never seen it verified, that no team has ever gone up without a loanee then its piss poor.
I agree with the recruitment failure part. Clearly the players bought in haven’t been good enough so far and Doug and the recruitment team should be rightly scrutinised for that. Also for not securing other targets which we’ve missed out on.

He’s taken the view the manager/head coach should be getting more out of them clearly but I’m not sure anyone is gonna turn BTA into prime Henry overnight in my opinion.

Whether we have a loan or not is neither here nor there. We had two last season neither which set the world alight and ones underperformance (ayari) you could argue played a part in why we didn’t finish as high as the season before. There was high expectations on him and is clearly a talented lad playing in the prem this season.
Just because every other club has signed a loan player doesn’t mean all those players have improved their team. We should sign loan players if they will improve us and they are better than permanent signings we are going for.

While agreeing with a lot of that my main issue isn't the no loanees in isolation, it's the no loanees and not replacing the experienced heads.
In doing this we've changed the demographic of the squad away from what brought us success and I think that's a mistake and I don't think it's all on Robins.

There can also be various things at play. Premier league clubs only want to release players to clubs where they’re going to play regularly. We’re stronger than we used to be so the pool of players shrinks. You’d maybe argue we could’ve got a CB but parent clubs would say you’ve already to four, CM, are they going to play ahead of Eccles, torp, sheaf and rudoni ? Upfront we’ve got a stack of players. Maybe a Lb/LWB 🤷‍♂️

Last year we had Ayari sat on the bench and then sent back and Binks playing 50% of games. Hardly a ringing endorsement for parent clubs to release players

I think the failure to bolster the midfield has been a massive failure. We tried to get that guy who went to Forest way back in June, which was a full two months before the end of the window. They had plenty of time to do something.

I certainly agree we lack leadership/experience in the squad on and off the field something that definitely needs addressing.

I don’t think there’s an issue with the recruitment. It’s too early to judge players like EMC and we have to be frank, was MR getting the best out of these players? Probably not in the end and he may have just lost the group as a whole.

With hindsight, the tinkering and changing formations was symptomatic that perhaps MR had ran out of ideas. It felt stale at the Derby game.

Good luck to the new manager and if it is Lampard, all the best to him and will have my support. That goodwill won’t last long though if the turnaround is not immediate.

I just cannot fathom in anyway that Lampard will be at the presser tomorrow. King is feeding himself to the wolves albeit in a very controlled manner. Taking Lampard or any other potential manager into that environment to introduce him to the fans would be nonsensical. Would put Lampard on the back foot immediately.

If it were me I would front up tomorrow, answer questions, let it be digested for a few days and look to announce the new manager later in the week or early next week.

Might not be as hostile as you think, it's by invitation only, people like the mad hatters. 🤔

Yep. I don’t think there is a “good” appointment to be made, or that we’d be satisfied with.
The fan base was still behind MR so this appointment is of absolute importance to DK. If he gets it wrong, things could unravel v quickly.

Whoever comes in needs to hit the ground running to prove that the decision to sack a living legend was necessary.

Leicester fans thinking Cooper could be sacked tonight.

That’s a manager who we should stick out for…
Has he really been doing that badly? They’ve been taking points from teams around them, and have lost to good teams this season (Ten Hagless Man Utd, Shit hot Forest side, Arsenal, Villa etc.,)

Not sure what Leicester fans were expecting out of this season? It’s a relegation battle all season long, and they don’t look like the worst side in the league.

It does not matter who takes over we have to give him our full support and backing only then can the club move forward. If it is Lampard he will get my full backing as will the players. Lampard will be great for the younger players as he is good at bringing them on and getting the most out of them. The more senior players will have respect for him and this will hopefully show on the pitch.
So whoever it is let's give them our full backing and support and maybe just maybe if the coaching staff the players and the fans are as one we might just have a chance of getting close to playoffs.

Not read every page of this thread, has anyone mentioned that other managerial messiah Steven Gerrard? Looks like his days are numbered in Saudi.
& no I don’t want him here either.

Mirror reporting it’s Lampard. Don’t know if they’ve got any more info than anyone else.
