What should they offer to keep him here?
In my eyes, the same amount as the top earner at the club. I wouldn't be against letting go of other fringe players to get the money together.

Firstly, a guarantee of regular first team football in the starting XI. An improved contract in relation to wage. Clauses in his contracts that don't tie him to the club in the event we don't get promoted. Significant goalscoring bonuses. Basically, his contract needs to suit him far more than it suits us.

Surely that could be said for any player who was already under contract? (ie not a renewal and not a new signing).
Robins will know more than us and I'm sure he won't let all of our defence leave without replacing them etc.
There will be outgoings, have to expect that.

The majority of those players on that list are our most saleable assets. As a player selling club, transfer fees recuperated from players sales is a massive part of our revenue stream. So like you said there'll no doubt be outings. Other players such as Willis/Jones/Ponticelli could potentially go, football is unpredictable.
In relation to Reid and RCC, they'll be deemed surplus to requirements. They're not in Robins plans and we need them off the books to free up wages.
I don't expect replacements not to come in. But what I'm stating is that Robins still has a great deal of work to do. I actually think once the dust settles our team will look far stronger than it already does.

Would hope he would try if he could to have most in before going abroad, it depends on waiting to see who's going and their deals though to confirm it I guess. No point signing more attackers for Beavon, Thomas and Reid to all stay.
How long would people give players such as George Thomas to sign the contract offered? As far as I am concerned, we must have the squad and general feeling of a starting XI together and bedded in before the season starts, rather than have the hurried recruitment of anybody that happened last year. With that in mind, I would be tempted to say, if there is no positive outcome to the contract offering by this time next week, we will (start to) plan without you.

Exactly, should have been a deadline of signing by a week before the trip abroad and when friendlies start.
Can't give them us as a fallback they can rely on until the start of the season if they get nothing else, we should be getting an indication of a yes or no and planning without them (like we did for CM).

Exactly, otherwise we'll just have a repetition of last season where transfer target after transfer target slips through the managers fingers.

Yeah I agree. I think what we need most is stability. In order for that to happen we need this group to have a solid pre-season together. So, it's important to especially have the futures of Beavon, Turnbull, Thomas and Haynes sorted quickly, otherwise it's just a disruption to both the team and Robins.

Yes in principle but say Haynes states he will stay and the club receive an offer they can't refuse for him then he's off anyway.
I agree the core should be in place but the football workplace is never entirely stable and at our level it never is!

If Thomas wants to go sit in a Premier League academy for the next three years of his career he can feel free. We need players who want to be here and are committed to getting us out of this division.

If offers come in from Premier League clubs I'd be very surprised if he stayed and wouldn't blame him at all. People talk about loyalty, but if he has the chance to try and break through at a club several divisions higher, play alongside better players, use top facilities and vastly improve his salary in the process then fair play to him. If it doesn't work out then the fact he's been at a PL club alone would probably be enough for someone in the Championship or L1 to take a punt on him.
Whereas if he stays here and struggles this season for whatever reason, he may not get another shot higher up the leagues in a hurry. Financially as well let's not forget that to us he may well be on decent money, but if he doesn't ever make it past L1/L2 level then he probably won't earn enough to keep him for life and won't walk into a coaching or pundit role like anyone who plays in the PL seems to be able to.

We play in the 4th tier of English football. It basically means a 3rd tier team is a better attraction than Coventry.
Thomas has an opportunity to go to a top flight team. It will happen over and over again with many of our youth players for years and years.

If I was in his shoes I wouldn't look back. A chance to be on up to 5k a week with for example a 3 year contract is almost worth £800k. He takes home half of that and only saves half of it and he's still got a mortgage free house.
Not even worth placing what he wants, needs or feelings are in regards to us. He will be offered 4 times his wage, better facilities and working environment everyday. He has placed himself in a position of now cashing in to all that he has dreamed of as a boy.
It's not about loyalty to us or what he wants for us. He now has a decision to make and we will not be in that equation, I would of thought. Fair play to him decent season, good international tournament now time to cash in the winning lottery ticket.

What we can offer is first team football which he won't get at any of the other clubs that have been linked. It's not always just about money - he may think he can move to a championship club next year to play if he has a good season this year. Depends who's advising him, can't be an easy decision for a young lad to make.
