The inevitable story...

The website I think is normally pretty reliable. The Wayne Veysey stories not so much.

That site, and few others, are linked into Nixon's site. He seems to be a Burnley fan (joke) at heart although works for the Sun, and was the one that had O'Hare to Burnley and then Vik. So far, he is very good at speculating but so far has failed to be right.
I see that we are now being linked with a lad at Leeds, to buy, (another Noxon story) and I am not sure if CCFC are trying to tempt a sale of Vik in the window and trying to get a reaction from potential suiters by looking at one or two of their players. Makes sense from a MR stance, to try and get a few swaps plus cash because he possibly won't see much of the cash.

He broke the McNally and the Maguire stories so I’d say it’s true
Think the website did but the author for them was Pete O'Rourke. The Wayne Veysey stories aren't as solid.

To be fair 'in talks' - I'm sure Everton have made an enquiry. Probably not the only ones.

We all know Vik will go at some stage. Just got to hope we time it right and get the best deal.

18 months left on his contract.. Probably wouldn't sign a new contract if we offered one. Now is the time to sell imo
If it does happen it will be understandable and thanks for the fabulous season and a half from yok. I’m sure we’ll have a loan with a view to permanent in the summer

One thing I did notice was Brereton Diaz at Blackburn (who has been mentioned in the similar value bracket) has reportedly signed a pre contract agreement with Villareal. As a selling club you'd always assume you'd get something back. Blackburn won't get a penny.

Shame about Simms having played for 2 clubs already because that seems a move that would suit all parties.

Well Simms either sits in Everton’s reserves/U21’s till the end of the season or ours.

If it meant we got him included in the deal I wouldn’t mind him sitting in our U’21s till end of the season and training with the team so he gels in

Thing is, £15m and Simms would mean we would consider Simms worth £3m which I don’t believe he is. Would it be better to get the £18m and buy a £3m striker of our choice and who fits our style of play… and ideally can play this season

Would absolutely take 15mill for Vik, his value will plummet if we don't sell him this transfer window, have deals ready to go for the top young talents of league one for the summer, as I think it's probably too late to get anyone sorted now without paying over the odds, only need 12 points from 18 games (and even that maybe an over estimate with how bad the bottom 3 are)and we've still got 6 of the current bottom 7 to play.

we are not going down
2 wins and 5 draws from 18 games will keep us up

If at this point in the season we were a huddersfield and had just signed Godden, we would say this is the striker to take us to safety - if he stays fit he will score enough goals to see us safe

Next season with a sensible rebuild including the Gyokores money will see us with a much stronger squad

I'd sell him if we could get another striker in at the same time.

A big gamble for Everton to think Vik Gyokeres will solve the goalscoring problems needed to save their necks. They’ve just sold one of their better proven premier players who I’m sure needs replacing, one thing Vik isn’t yet is premier proven standard and to do that at a team at the bottom is a tough task especially with the very demanding Everton fans. Also apart from a pay rise a gamble for Vik granted Everton are a big name but in todays football that means nothing just look at the “big” names in division one. It’s clear to me he thrives on playing, he’s scoring goals and at a club still with an outside chance of getting in the play-offs having his arse on the bench or the wounded Evertonians on his back will do him no good at all.

Football Insider are usually pretty spot on with the EFL but Premier League not so much

His value won’t plummet. If we don’t sell for 15m today we will still get that in the summer.

If he leaves before the window closes I would fully expect someone to come in, to think MR wouldn’t have been searching for someone incase it happens would be bordering on ridiculous.

Everton would still be a great move for him - It would be shit timing for us but anyone who thinks it wouldn’t be a step up is deluding themselves

Very big club and we’ve seen in recent years with Newcastle and Villa when clubs like that go through a patch similar to Everton at the moment they usually come back stronger for it

I just hope we can hold on till summer

If we have a striker lined up then we should sell now

We aren't going to go down so it will be a rebuild in the summer but invest wisely then we could go again and repeat until we get to where we want to be (e.g. like Brentford)

I don’t think it’s influenced by my not wanting him to go yet, but I don’t think it’s happening. Think there’s some agent touting going on more than anything.

I am sure Robins & King would ensure we have a striker lined up (even if its an expensive loan from the Premier League) if Vik does go.

Upfront aswell , not installments
Ollie Watkins went to Villa from Brentford for £25m. Surely we should be looking at around this figure, if they want him so badly, have just had £45m from Newcastle, and they want to stay up?

Everton can do one trying to force lower price. It’s Jan, a day and a half before window closes, they’re in the shit, he’s half way through his contract and they’ve just sold Gordon for 45m. As people have said, if they were offering up a loan replacement to see us through maybe they could force price down a little bit if not, pay the 18m if you want him.

Ps I’d be pushing for a little sell on clause as well
