Has there been any evidence that Haji is back in training on grass yet? I haven't seen anything saying confirming it

Who are you dropping to fit him in now? Simms seems to be going through the gears and BTA has 2 in 2.
I said before Haji will not be a starter immediately he comes back so I guess Bassette will get the chop as things stand. 😁

Lampard mentioned pre-Norwich that he was doing some light mobility work on the grass and that he should be returning to training in a couple of weeks. So I'd imagine he's probably only just returned.

He'll need 2/3 weeks training to get somewhat up to speed.

BTA unfortunately. Feels harsh to say but his overall performance still hasn't been great.
Not a player i really rate, seems to take 4 or 5 touches to get a ball under control, but he is giving his all so i can respect that and he is definitely a nuisance. Would i flip him for what we paid? Probably yes, but i won't complain if he's kept on. Gonna try and keep an open mind on him.

Thanks. So realistically we wont see him selected until mid February at best

Told fans tonight he should be back early Feb. Hoping before Ipswich match.
Makes me laugh that we've got people saying the club can't give any detail at all about injuries to the media because of GDPR and you've got players going round telling fans when they will be back 😂

Make them all go on one of those boring as fuck GDPR courses

You understand that GDPR doesn't apply to yourself though right? You can give out personal details about yourself to others.

I'm at ease with EMC and Wright not coming back for several weeks yet. Most weeks players are having to play 2 games a week on soft winter pitches. By that time most players will be jaded and need a rest. So first of all they will not always be against fully fit players, and aside from that they will still be fit at the end of the season without any more injuries.

Teams already have enough problems keeping them quiet when they're fully fit. If we can keep within touching distance of the top 6 for when they come back we could have a fun end to the season.

I do, just find it funny that we've suddenly decided to not give this info to the media but players are wandering around telling random fans

I think the answer to that question is clear.. 😁

Extraordinary time out with an ankle ligament injury particularly with all the physio apparatus available.
Protecting our biggest asset I guess.

FFS!! BTA is paid to score goals, just what he's doing now!!!! He can run about as much as he likes, as long as he's on the end of goal scoring chances.

I know but he presses but won't tackle.
He receives the ball but can't control it.

On the other hand his run & finish v Bristol City was a highlight for the team this season

I imagine he's not light at 6'3 and is naturally light footed, even for that size, so may stress the injury even more then most. Not worth chancing a breakdown.

Haji has now missed more games than he's played in this season. Played 15, missed 16. Next week he will have been out 5 months. That is one serious ankle injury. In fact broken ankles can heal faster.

He's not "on the grass yet" either.

Sunderland game was on the 9th Nov when he was injured . So he's been out for something like 3 months which is what I assume you meant.

Said it at the time when Haji rolled his ankle, ankle ligament injuries can take longer to heal than when you break your leg, trouble is, Haji is a big fellow, there's no guarantee when he does start playing it doesn't happen again, he's got a weakness there now, look at the problems Harry Kane's having with his ankles.

Kind of puts the Wright v EMC discussion to bed, if FL wants to play wingers it will be EMC on the left once reintroduced. Sounds like Wright is going to be at least another month before he can even start to be reintroduced. I think we'll be lucky to have him fully back for the final 7 matches from April.

Lampard said he is back on the grass end of next week apparently

Wait until he's running flat out then we'll find out whether he's fit or not.

Initial prognosis from Saddle was 12 weeks out - so that was roughly about now for a return, give or take a week for return to training.

but it was clearly a serious ankle ligament/soft tissue injury.
But the fact it’s taken a bit longer it’s frustrating but got to give it proper recovery time.
