I usually agree with you BSB. In this case I can’t blame a very decent young bloke in keeping his financial options open - I’m a massive and long term fan of this club but even if I had played for the sky blues I would have taken the right financial option for my family in his situation. We all would in that situation if we’re honest. I loved Gus as a player and a person - still love the guy and hope he does brilliantly in his career.
Tell us start of the year then and we can move on before the season starts like we did with Vik.

We will need to disagree in that case and I think even MR in the end was pissed off with what was going on. Nobody begrudges a player wanting a move, it’s the way he’s gone about it leaving us now trying to recruit replacements with a few weeks to go.

The one plus is that their certain relegation will see him trying to leave yet again meaning we get that sell on % in a year’s time.

Still feel the way this played out has left a biter taste.

Also;

1) Viks goodbye shits on Hamer (which is a surprise)
2) He’s gone now. Let’s all move and please no stupid tribute songs to him today!!

Please don’t make Dawkins the escaped goat over this whole saga. Hamer is the Pre-Madonna here.
What you on about mate. He moved job, moved up a level & got more money. We have been treated to 3 years of his talent and have been fairly compensated. No scapegoat needed.

Only issue I have is Dawkins being a salty loser and using this as a tool to bash Doug. Two separate issues

All the clubs fault for showing Hamer disrespect.

Not sure if the (weak, granted) joke was missed or I’m being double bluffed. Touché if the latter.

This is what Gus said back in January according to Cov Live. They were published as direct quotes.
“I am really happy and I look forward to sign a new deal but I am not looking too far yet. I will end the season first and see what’s going on"
When I first read that I thought there was a hidden message there of hedging bets to see if anything better came along.

He’s surely got to be GIMOC?
No, don't think so - there is a separate "GIMOC" account (which is very different to JDs) on twitter.
Incidentally, a couple of others are adamant (supported by JD) that Hamer would have, and wanted to sign a new contract a couple of weeks back for 25k p/w but the club dithered on it.
I know one of the lads who JD claims "couldn't be closer to the situation" and he is a decent lad who I can't see attention seeking/making stuff up.
For discussion- if anybody is bothered - see tweets;

Oh I don’t know why he’s leaving or where he’s gonna go, I guess he’s got his reasons but I just don’t wanna know.
But for 36 months of been kneeling at the feet of Hamer ‘Hamer’ who the fuck is “HAMER”

Fat little dwarf. Still got a shit load of quality without him and more to come through the door.

Nothing to fear in the league this season, Leicester will probably win it and we could have won there really. I expect top 6. Sheffield Utd on the other hand are only heading in one direction.
