Have I missed an academy update? (7 Viewers)

Did you ask Wasps / CSF why they are so adamant on not putting anything in writing? (by you I mean Trust / people who met with them?)

What do you think is going on? Do you think CCFC want to just get rid of the academy? IF so, why?

IF he has sent over schedules of what is used and when, isn't that sending over the requirements to ask if they can meet them?

It is like another Haskell situation all over again isn't it?

Do you not think that this is the same game playing by those at the top who denied that ACL made an offer, ACL then confirming that the offer was made through the FL and then for those at the top to then say that no "direct" offer had been made. It's the same bullshit, denial, game playing we've seen before and you are falling for it all other again.

They haven't answered our questions, aren't you having a meeting where questions will be answered, no because questions haven't been answered we're not going to a meeting where questions can be answered.

Do they want the answers or don't they? If they did they'd pursue them through every means possible. Including attending scheduled meetings not cancelling them.

No, it's not fact - it's your interpretation of the situation.

He's asked for it in writing, they've not provided it, he didn't bother to go to the meeting.

If only it was as black and white. My interpretation is that there is a reason he is adamant on it being in writing and there is a reason they won't give it to him and keep saying it has to be safe to face.

It isn't making it into more than it is, it is trying to see the bigger picture of what is going on. Whether it is the powers above phoning him up saying "you go without it in writing and you are sacked" or things like that.

Nothing is as simplistic as you are trying to make out, surely we have seen enough to know there is always stuff we don't expect going on in the background? Usually bad stuff.

Falling for it? I have said it is PR games and given a couple of different things with both CCFC and CSF / Wasps playing for it.

What happened to the boycott you were starting when the news about Wasps moving into the academy? That went quiet after they put out a quick statement, who is falling for what?

You've fallen for it because you've repeatedly said that the CSF should reply in writing to call CA bluff when you should be asking why didn't CA attend the meeting and call CSF's bluff. You're accusing them of a double dealing PR stunt so why didn't CA attend and expose it? Obvious answer is he couldn't because there's only one bluff that can be called and it's his own. Ironically by not attending the meeting he's called his own bluff. The trust did their job to well. All CSF have to do is sit back and watch him try to get out of the corner he's painted himself into.

Nice of you to help him out where you can though.

He hasn't really, as he has said from the start that it should be in writing hasn't he?
The trust did their job of what? Again, it is another Haskell situation isn't it?

Calling CA's bluff would be writing him a letter saying what's on offer, there really would be no way out of that.

The lack of information is the exact reason he's given for not attending -

“CSF haven’t confirmed to us what we would need in relation to how many pitches, changing rooms and office space, once the contract has run out.

"Once that has been confirmed we will sit down with CSF and discuss the future of our Academy at the Higgs Centre.”

Are you saying you don't believe him? This statement is a lie? It's PR? Coventry Telegraph have misquoted him?

However there is another option, I know this might seem a bit left field for you, but it might be exactly as it seems and doesn't to be built up to something it isn't?!

So Reid has being trying to claim CCC Planning have requested written assurances re Academy future, the CCFC statement yesterday tried to make the same claim and now latest comedic outburst -

Yet again Reid showing his balanced approach towards a subject!

The Academy going down the Swanee is going to be everybody but CCFC's fault apparently!

The clear alliance between Reid and CCFC/SISU isn't commendable, it's utterly pathetic.

Both repeatedly more interested in trying to take the higher ground than actually looking at the situation objectively and making proper and considered choices.

Calling CA's bluff would be writing him a letter saying what's on offer, there really would be no way out of that.

The trust did their job by researching what is needed, where it can be located and how flexible the rules are.

There's every chance that CA's list is an exact list of requirements that we don't currently have under the current arrangement and don't need to be all on the one site.

Truth is CSF have probably done the academy a favour by not replying because the minute they do and confirm that not everything will be available on this (again we already know that everything won't be and thanks to the trusts hard work we also know it doesn't need to be) list, CA will be running to LR with another "exclusive" of the CSF won't provide everything on the list and are deliberately killing the academy woe us woe us aren't we the victim.

However. If CA attends the meeting and they go through his list point by point given that they were involved in the initial report to the FA for gaining the Cat 2 they can discuss like adults the points and maybe just maybe find a way forward that means the academy can be saved.

Not attending the meeting isn't the actions of someone intent on saving the academy. Sending a list of demands and then not attending a meeting to discuss them is the actions of someone playing the victim though.

It's been game playing from the start from CA. It's pretty apparent that those in charge have done less than anyone to save the academy, in fact they're going out of their way to not do things to save the academy.

Yep. It's everyone else's responsibility except CA's. No ones falling for it this time though. Well, except Nick.

You didn't mention what was happening with that wasps boycott? Unless of course you have fallen for their pr..

I haven't fallen for anything, just trying to look beyond the crap pr games from both sides.

Not heard anything of a Wasps boycott. Who's organized that? I am and always will boycott Wasps but that's a personal decision I made on day one though based on my own moral guidelines. Not based on some PR I read somewhere.

Good effort in changing the subject though. I'm sure CA appreciates your effort in doing that.

The Wasps boycott was nothing but bluster along with all the marches, protests etc that were mooted - what actually happened to them?

I'm on about the thread you started telling everybody to boycott them when the news of them moving into the academy came out. The one that new users were signing up to post on as quick as they could!

That's sharing a view. If you don't agree with it go and watch Wasps. It's up to you.

Again, good effort on changing the subject. CA will be double proud of you now.

It isn't sharing your view, you were trying to persuade others not to go weren't you?

My point was how it changed as soon as wasps put a statement out.

Not half as proud as pr teams sat pissing themselves at our fans. The wasps bloke has said himself how easy it was hasnt he?

Which is exactly the same as this situation.

How am I doing anybody's pr? I have already said id have gone to the meeting and tried to think of why he Really didn't. Unless it's really because of not having paperwork.

Wasps not need PR when it comes to our fans - CCFC/SISU lurching from one shite situation to the next more than covers that.

As was discussed yesterday, the sum total of Anderson's proactive actions to saving the Academy is writing a letter and sitting on his arse until he gets a reply.

Go Team Anderson! Whoop, Whoop!?!

You've just spent god knows how many pages selling the line that it's all CSF's fault for not replying to a letter while trying to come up with a conspiracy theory when in actual fact all CA had to do to get answers was to go to a prearranged meeting that HE himself cancelled.

You're doing more PR on CA behalf than LR. Well done. You also talk about people laughing at our fans. If as is highly evident the powers that be don't want to continue with the cat 2 academy and are taking this opportunity to get out of that commitment while playing the victim who do you think that CA is laughing at? Me and the majority thorn in his side who aren't buying it and are saying so or you and the minority who are buying it hook line and sinker by willingly selling his PR on here? I'm guessing he's laughing at you and why wouldn't he be.

do you mean the bit where I said a few posts back that it could well be they don't want it, if that was the case then csf and wasps would / should be all over it and an open letter would be front page in the telegraph with the fantastic offer.

Instead, they are using the higgs tactic of starting whispers and rumours.

If the ccfc approach is to close the academy but try and make wasps look guilty, requesting things in writing isn't the way to go about it. Is it? Because them all that needs to be done to disprove that is for a letter to get leaked which they usually do.

Wasps / csf said at the start it wouldn't be possible, people got annoyed, they meet with the trust and the trust come away shouting about how the academy is saved. Not their fault, it's what they are told.

It leaves a couple of possibilities (opinion)

1. It isn't possible, ca knows this hence he wants it in writing. Csf know this hence they won't write it down. The blame is being turned at the club.

2. Ccfc want to close the academy, trying to pin the blame on csf / wasps to make it look like their fault rather than theirs.

I repeat a comment made previously. Do you really think downgrading would be a huge issue to most fans? A cat 3 would still cost a considerable amount anyway.

Possibly not. But that's not what CA is selling is he? He's selling that they are trying to do everything that they can to save the Cat2 when he's actually not doing everything he can to save the Cat2.

If they came out and said that the Cat2 is a luxury that the club can't afford, we're going to downgrade to a Cat3, the savings are X but we'll lose X you could at least make an informed decision and get on board, or not if that's you're choice.

But that's not what's happening is it?

The thing is, I contact Anderson (and Seppala plus Armstrong from Wasps) to see what the progression was taking place if any re CCFC staying at Ricoh and he didn't even have the courtesy to confirm receipt.

Yes, I'm a nobody in his world but seems to go against his expectation of a response to a correspondence.

Partly. But again, that's not what's being sold. It's more than downgrading the academy. They're also intent on playing the victim at the same time. I don't think you're actually buying it either. You've said yourself that CA should have attended, you didn't pass the opportunity to lay blame at others doors at the same time but then you're you so that was always going to happen. Reading between the lines I think that ultimately you accept that the status of the academy is the clubs responsibility no one else's. I think that you also accept that it can't and won't all be on one site but that doesn't matter as that's allowed and there's always leniency shown by the FA. I suspect that you accept that the club is looking to down grade as a cost saving exercise and they're less than half heartedly going through some motions to look willing. Nick on the other hand is lapping it up.

The onus is on CA. If he wants to save the academy he'll go to the meeting reply or no reply to his letter. It's as clear cut as that for me. He's playing games and taking our fanbase for mug's in the process if he doesn't. I'm not buying it and I don't think you are either. Hence you pre-empting a cat3 wouldn't be unacceptable to most fans comment. Like I said, most likely not. If the club makes a case for it I might even be behind it myself. But again that's not what is happening is it. Its all smoke and mirrors again. That's what I really have an issue with at this moment in time.

I'm not lapping anything up, I am not saying it isn't possible but if CA wants to downgrade / close down then him being persistent on everything being in writing is pretty much him asking to have his pants pulled down and everybody going in dry on him isn't it?

I am not saying it isn't possible, but if that was the play they were going with it doesn't make sense to want everything in writing does it? As it just takes a letter that is cc'd to the telegraph saying "this is what you wanted" showing a fantastic offer etc.

Is he that stupid? I am not saying he isn't as I don't know him.

This is what makes me think there is a reason he wants it in writing (does he think / know Wasps cant offer anything)? Saying he won't go to a face to face meeting without anything written first gives Wasps too much of a way to shut him up doesn't it?
