A crime like this you are evil, and a danger to society. The worst kind of predator and the worst crime.
Death is the only option that comes close to justice here. My only problem with the death penalty is that people get wrongly convicted of crimes and that’s a different debate.
That being said, if you 100% could prove this scum did this, they deserve putting down and it’s the best thing for society can’t see how anyone can argue against that really.
People might have religious beliefs that go against death penalties but to be honest i despise all religion and i don’t think old books that quote magic sky wizards should have any place in deciding justice in modern society
A civilised free and fair country should not resort to death penalty. Life should mean life and only very limited facilities should be provided (no tv, radio etc). The idea should be to learn from and test why such people offend and carry out heinous crimes, maybe with hope of learning lessons preventing in future working with scientists, social services, police, CPS, prison services etc.
Just kill em, is a reactionary solution that has implications. Victims families sometimes want revenge but over time their feelings can often soften and not fair to give them burden of deciding.
Reasons people commit crimes can be extremely complex based on infinite number of factors.
Having a state that can sanction the killing of citizens is setting a bad example IMO. Someone with a mindset to kill could easily manipulate that into 'killing is acceptable if you seriously disagree with what I believe in" (though I admit there is still war that could arguably do the same).Im as atheist as they come and don’t think killing people out of revenge is morally good or healthy for a society.
