Makes it even stranger that MR reportedly pursued him for so long.

The footballing world isn’t massive, surely the due diligence was done.

So either the rumours are bollocks, we didn’t do our homework or MR thought he could manage it.

Regardless he’s poor at the minute and I prefer Binks.
Binks is poor so we need to buy an experienced centre back, a left footed one preferably

In tandem with this, I feel we haven’t really utilised the free agent market well with this squad rebuild. I get not wanting to spend a fee on 28+ year olds but a smattering of good quality free agents would have helped massively. Think there’s only Latibeaudiere that we’ve brought in via this method; obviously we were looking at Browne as well but a couple more would have been beneficial.

Those inflated fees bother me were they genuinely for the players involved or to cover other money out, like improvents to infrastructure or the safe standing etc etc?

Bidwell has been poor apart from Blackburn so even though I don't rate Dasilva, I don't think it's much of a downgrade atm. But yes, the rest just needs to stay like that for a while with minimal pissing around.
Id argue till the cows come home that both van ewijk and bidwell have looked “poor” this season because of the mess in midfield causing overlap and doubling up issues.

Bidwell is a bloke that just fucking loves defending. He wants to tackle and block all day every day. Throws himself in front of every possible shot and made some heroic contributions last year and this season already

Doesn't really support the "bad apple" stuff if Fadz is mates with him

No, it doesn't. But McFazdean is loyal to Overson. Everyone other than Robins from those days has gone from the club. Kitching wasn't from those times. What’s Kitching’s connection with Overson?

I'm not having a go at you, share away. But it's odd how peoples perceptions change... Players don't like Adi - Players are cunts. Players don't like Kitching - Kitching is a c**t.

Kitching is one of the players.

He might want that but he gets skinned repeatedly and his on the ball skills consist of lumping it down the line into the box.

So yes, he doesnt have alot of pace and can get beaten, but i do think sometimes he gets beat because he’s in the middle of two players (cause no midfield/cb/tracking back support) and gets caught.

Going forward he can put in a decent ball. But he CONSTANTLY stops an attack to pass sideways or back rather than go forward. But he isnt a wingback, he’s a defender through and through,

Our shape is terrible there like somebody said, why are the full backs so high at that point?
Shocking, if he leaves that worst case it runs through to Wilson, to be fair to the full backs you don’t expect your centre half to head it inside straight to the centre forward, and his marking after that header was worse, just followed the ball, not seen anything in kitching since he’s been here, obviously doesn’t rate binks, keeps sticking with him ?

Only for now.

I'd say he was put back in instead of binks because of his understanding with thomas to try to get a few clean sheets

I just think he’s past his best. A couple of seasons ago I’d have agreed. This year he looks slow and easily beaten. Like Thomas he’ll look good because he’ll throw last ditch blocks in, but it shouldn’t be getting to that point.

We needed better in the summer really, it hampers Wright as well.

But the chances are that Wright will be off by summer.

everyone Looking who to blame ? Even with the best coaches in the World you can’t allow for one of your most experienced players to do that bang on half time, that’s another game where we should have gone in with a lead, its a totally different game 2nd half, just making too many basic mistakes,

I’ve been told that Kitching is the one having a go in the dressing room when we play shite as I assume AV did when he was here. Maybe some of the little darlings don’t like the mean words
If he is having a go that in itself is enough to spark it kicking off....due to the fact that he should be getting his own house in order before slating anybody else.....If nobody is challenging him on this, (not saying any of this is the case) that says enough about the characters we have in the dressing room.

Not just him, whole defence is shocking, watch every goal we’ve conceded apart from Leeds 1st goal they’ve all been embarrassing, no closing down and the positioning is awful, no shape,, is it system, coaching or players ?

Honestly think it’s losing Lawrence. If it’s true we’re using the GK coach as a defensive coach that says it all. They don’t look like they know what they’re supposed be doing in or out of possession.

Spot on,every goal they all just stand around looking at each other,id take a couple of 0-0s but Just can’t see it, what’s worrying I think robins knows they’re not good enough, I’m sure at the start of the season he said that we‘ll just have to score more ? We’re like Keegan’s Newcastle but without the goals 😂

It’s interesting but even Adi was a defender so was able to coach that aspect.

Delaney is the only coach who was a defender but not sure what his exact role is.

It’s mad, we look clueless, but surely you can’t expect us to be different when we’ve got the same defence that finished last season so poor, everyone looking for the problem,it’s pretty obvious, they’re not good enough, thomas, kitching, binks and da Silva to get us through the season, very worrying ?

Wright and Simms combined got nearly 40+ goal contributions last season. That was a success?

So what’s happened this season?

I think Wright and Simms are decent players but maybe the recruitment should have looked at what type of striker/winger we needed to suit the style of play that Robins wants, rather than buying players that have a very particular set of skills.

Or maybe it’s an example of how Robins isn’t in charge of transfers or how Robins doesn’t know what he wants exactly. I’m not saying that I know what’s wrong or even that the recruitment has been awful, but it’s just that the recruitment has been very patchy. We’ve uncovered some gems like Van Ewijk, Sakamoto, Rudoni but I’m not sure we’ll be getting our money back on Wright, Simms, Kitching, Dasilva, Torp or EMC if they continue with the way they’re currently playing.

Coaching and inconsistent backline. It was the same at certain points last season. The defence and Gk is a unit (the CDM is also part of it). If we keep chopping and changing we’re likely to get the same result ie shitshow

I personally think all the players we have are good enough at this level but individual errors and shape/set up are costing us
