We don't know much about his mentality apart from what we perceive from watching him - a placid gentle giant. I hope behind the scenes the coaching staff are telling him he needs to find the aggression or he won't be here much longer.

It’s why I was keen for a while on Sam Surridge. Bit of an arrogant dickhead who thinks he’s better than he is, but you need a bit of that.

Team for Bristol at home (1-0 W):

Lati - Binks - Kitch
MvE - Rudoni - Allen - Torp - Da Silva
Simms - BTA

Team for Blackburn away (2-0 W):

Lati - Binks - Kitch
MvE - Rudoni - Allen - Torp - Bidwell
Simms - BTA

--

9/10 of those players are available. We could put a better version out now as Grimes/Sheaf/Wright all come in

The big absence is Torp. You can compensate for leaving Sakamoto out of the team if you have 2 CM capable of creating goals and assists. Rudoni, Torp operated v high and wide in that system and Allen was asked to cover a lot of distance so I have my doubts that Sheaf and Grimes fit into that system naturally.

We only have 3 CBs fit so we’re just not going to 5-3-2. That’s key admission also.

Said before if the money was there I’d want: GK, CB x 2, RB, LB, CM x 2, RW, ST most of that is replacing squad players.

But whether we’ve got the cash for a noticeable upgrade on the likes of Lati, Eccles, BTA, etc is a fair question.

Something like that assuming the outs are as rumoured.

I’ve got a feeling Allen may end up leaving because you’d have thought he’d sign an extension by now if he was planning on staying. Kai Andrews is one to watch because it sounds like he’s doing well in Scotland so perhaps he’ll have a part to play as a role player. We may only need to replace Eccles because I don’t believe Sheaf will leave.

Personally, the recruitment in the forward areas depends on whether or not Lampard thinks Simms can be a number 1 striker. Right now, I think he sees Wright as the main striker and a 3 of Wright, Simms and Bassette strikes a decent balance to me. In that scenario, you’d need 2 wingers imo. However, if Lampard plans to play Wright LW, then you’d need a ST and a winger to complement the squad.

Can't believe people think Eccles might leave. Midfield next year (barring promotion) will be; Grimes, Sheaf, Rudoni, Torp, Eccles, 1 more. Allen's the one most likely to leave, but wouldn't be surprised if he's still here considering his wages will be low.

Why? Because he's not very tall?

Need to be smarter in the free market i think. We can't be paying what you'd consider to be good money for all those positions.

In terms of our development model there's some really good players here.

The rumour is that there’s strong interest in Eccles and assuming he’s 3rd or 4th choice, there may be a temptation to cash in on him and take the profit for FFP purposes down the line.

Really? Didn't know that, I'm a little surprised to be honest. He's a good championship midfielder obviously, but wouldn't have thought he'd currently be attracting the kind of offers we'd look at.

A few decent players amongst that lot, I'd sign Freddie Woodman(GK) all the Peterborough players and (CB) Harry Darling, plus (LB) Harry Toffolo.

As we're doing fan suggestions already i'd bring in the following on a free.. because its as easy as that isn't it...
LB Lewis (i'm sure we've all heard about this by now)
CB Darling
RB Kane Wilson
CM Kyprianou
RW Musaba (as i think Poku will cost a significant fee still)
ST Riis

I think thats a really good starting point without spending a penny on transfers. I'd be very tempted not just to cash in on BTA but also Simms and make a striker one of our 2 or 3 'big' summer signings.

Lewis and Dasilva as left backs would be disastrous

I think our summer should consist of mainly Frees to supplement 1 or 2 big money signings, as the starting lineup is probably good enough to go up already maybe 2/3 positions not quite but its more the squad that needs padding

Any decent keepers on a free in the summer?

all this will change if we get to the promised land !

Too right we can get Ronaldo, Messi, Callum Wilson, and Neymar from this list then!

Mustapha Bundu looked like everything Simms doesn't on Monday... A natural striker. Just saying

What has Bassette done?

Bta just coming back
And Collins is mentally unwell
I hope that’s tongue in cheek about Collins 🤔 I would play him tomorrow. The first line of defence is in attack, then midfield, then defence. We all fuck up at some point and no one deserves the shit he’s getting. I hold my hand up as someone who has reaped my anger at his mistakes, we’re all frustrated. 3-2 city win Collins to score a cracker 🙏🙏🙏

Can’t see anything other than a defeat. Luton have decided to turn up the last few games.
The best players on show tomorrow (on paper) are Grimes Wright and Rudoni,
If we show up and match Luton for workrate, then we win.

I don't see us playing as badly as we did against Plymouth, but Wilson has to start in goal.

I hope you’re right. I think Collins will play though.
