Stalinism isn't socialism, Marx/Lenin would be turning in their graves if they were to visit DPRK or state capitalist countries such as China or the former USSR.
Well, I must have received those traits from my Britishness then.
That's a bit like saying Adolf Hitler wasn't a real Nazi.
That post was directed at a comment about 7/7 being on par with 9/11, which isn't really, so I don't know where this comment has come from.
We do remember 7/7 anyway, hence there being memorials and TV shows once every year since it happened, so that point is incorrect.
Out of curiosity, what evidence do you have that suggests this.
The fact that on the day people go "oh yeah" then carry on without any real thought. N it's not very well publicised is it? N evidence of what?
Such a sweeping statement, in what way?
On a lighter note, I got a better quote for your signature
Im sure you have.
Just that whenever someone does something extream in the name of a cause the common theme is to discredit them as not being part of that cause. Stalin was a Communist, whether what he did fitted in with what you consider Communisum or not is the only argument. But he himself was the leader of the Communist Party, just the same as all the more moderate Soviet leaders.
I ask this out of curiousity, but how do you view Gorbachev?
On Gorbachev in what way do you mean?
It's publicised at the anniversary of when it happened, what do expect? It to be thrown down our throats every day in the paper and on TV, that doesn't even happen in the USA.
A lot of communists seen him as a type of traitor.
It's difficult to disconnect immigration to this incident. By and large I believe immigration has been good for this country. However the untethered immigration of recent years importing extremist ideology from all corners of the globe I fail to see the benefit of.
I don't know how long it will take but I m convinced this country will be defeated from within. Far too weak and worried of causing offence while our enemies are ruthless and savage as proven today.
May the victim rest in peace. A sad and perhaps pivotal day
Ohh, ffs, I mean on the day people don't remember. On st George's day, people don't remember. Remembrance day only gets remembered cus everyone on tv has a poppy on. I mean it should be that everyone stops the think for a few minutes about it.
We do though.
You seem really nationalistic, why don't you mention the English Civil War amongst things we should celebrate, after all, that was a great moment in our history, like the French have their Revolution as too with the Americans. Much better sign of national pride than St. George's day, who is remembered for slaying dragons, although that isn't what he did.

SBT I think for your own sake you admit defeat. There's a time for expressing your opinion, and I appreciate your entitled to do this, but I really don't think a post of this mature is the time to continue with your arguments.

Someone has lost their life. Someone has lost a son. A brother. A colleague. Comparing terrorist attacks is really not appropriate

Well said. I can't believe what I have been reading from SBT. If SBT is that against our country & the pride to be English, then why doesn'the feck off to a country that matches his views. Oh probably coz benefits, education, health service, freedom, common decency are not on tap. Hang your head in shame SBT, to go on like you have, when a young man has been subjected to heinous crime is disgusting, disrespectful & disappointing.
Have heard that a mosque is on fire too now?
I think anybody with half a brain knows that not every Muslim is a terrorist.

If that's true, that's the backlash I was on about, and also a terrible crime that will no doubt only increase divisions in society, a dark day.
What if the air ambulance used to take one of the suspects to hospital was needed somewhere else?
The more I think about it the more angry I get. What right have these scum got to come into Britain, living off our over generous benefits, then murdering innocent young lads?
I dont mind people coming here but they should work and show some gratitude to the country that has given you a better life ffs.
They only care about their religion. There even able to claim benefits for their multiple wives in the UK.
Gods don't kill people, people with gods kill people.
We do though.

I'm sorry, it doesn't matter what faith you are or what the colour of your skin is. Each walk of life carries nutters and extremists and the April Taylor case shows this. To use this as a case for banning immigrants is absurd.
My issue is that like a lot of things we seem to find it OK to remember people's sacrifices just one day a year. People are too afraid to celebrate Englishness because the likes of the EDL have tarred it with a negative image.
Personally I like the edl, they mainly protest against us being treated as 2nd class citizens. Only the odd few take it too far
