Many suggesting we are flush with quality out wide are forgetting Wright came as a CF. He only went out left because Robins wouldn’t/couldn’t play two up top and wanted Simms’ physicality. Not to say he’s not great out there but EMC surely starts there when fit.

EMC and Tats are our only recognised wingers. Fabio no where near the level and Rapha - though you might say similar - is clearly viewed as a project.

FL hinting at wanting more wide players. Essentially said Tats is all we have on that side.

Not suggesting Matondo is the answer. Rangers fans couldn’t be more damning with their reports. Then again, Swans said Gyok was terrible.

I’m now thinking of a Cov Scottish 11!
I’ve whipped up a very quick and inaccurate 11…

1. Jim Blyth
2. Paul Telfer(?)
3. ???
4. Gary Macallister
5. Gary Gillespie
6. Steven Pressley (😀)
7. Kevin Gallacher
8. David Speedie
9. Willy Carr
10. Sandy Robertson
11. Dougie McGuire

I got bored/ran out of steam. Please do a proper job!
3. Bobby MacDonald. And you missed out Tommy Hutch who actually played for his home country

The replies to this :ROFLMAO: 'Need more than just raw pace against Scottish defences'

Thought the same in the Patterson thread when one of our fans asked why it didn't work out in the US and they said 'he couldn't hack the speed and physicality of the league'.

Is the championship the premier walking football league or something?
They are delusional

But Mikey Johnston has been rubbish for Celtic in the past and people thought he was brilliant for the baggies

Yes, he's not Pep or Klopp but players would still be keen to work with someone of his caliber, over other managers in the Championship.
Yep, exactly this, Wee. I would imagine that's one of the reasons which attracted King to FL in the first place.

Add in David McNamee and James McPake at the back

Possibly , but it's not likely the reason

Reason I say that is because those lengthy injury spells were at Rangers, and the previous seasons he missed very few games but was still playing regularly. May just be the fact you get kicked about in Scotland, with less actual football being played.

His last season before rangers was 2 months out too tbh , just less games missed

I like Matondo, think he's a good player from when I've seen his highlights.

Do not understand this signing. We had 3 wingers on the bench last night and another 2 injured , where is he suppose to fit?
Who are these 3 wingers?

Tavares is not a first team winger. In reality, we have 3 first team wingers if you include Haji, who is not necessarily an out-and-out winger in the first place.

End of the day, he's not very good or injured we send him back end of the season. He is good we sign him for a relatively modest sum of £2 million. Looks like a good deal on the face of it.
Depends if we are paying his wages and if he gets injured early doors are we stuck with him until June

Likewise, a few of our fanbase thought Kitching was league one standard, overpriced shite.

Now we’re wondering why he hasn’t been featuring.
Must be so weird playing for Celtic or Rangers. There are still some decent players at the 2 clubs (more so at Celtic) although the standard has dropped massively the last few years, but the opposition most weeks is League 2 standard. It must be hard to keep your levels up surely?
