Never get behind a takeover from a business prepared to up and move a club for money.
You really are an idealist Northern I admire it. But let's face it anybody with shed loads of money unless a lottery winner has only got it because they're evil bastards
I can't see how anyone but Wasps would want to buy us.
He discovered the internet, probably realised there's lots of porn and gone awolWhatever happened to Mr. Byng?

There's always some nutter who thinks they can have a go.
Problem is... those nutters will be just that, complete basket cases, fruit loops, mentalists!
No I can multi taskYou speaking from experience ?
I guess been owned by Wasps would be nearly as bad as SISU.
Only slightly better as they have the ground and seem a bit slicker with their business actions .
Morals no different I would say.
Also would shaft us if they needed to.
You get a rough deal on this board
I would welcome just about anyone, with the setup and current ownership I honestlyI'm not happy with SISU. If we are to have new owners great.... I don't want them to be Wasps. Would you??
Or because there's far more money to be made from football than there willThe club needs to be reunited with the Ricoh plus all associated revenue. Appears this will only happen under wasps owners.
Fan ownership whilst a nice thought is no good under current rental set up. We'd be resigned to league one (or two) as with sisu.
Wasps are never going to move out (unfortunately) and laughable thought they would ever try to relocate ccfc.
Maybe wasps ownership is best shot we have of ever rising up the league's again.
I would still never set foot in Ricoh to watch wasps though.
Why would wasps owners want us? Safety net in case the wasps project fails or to cement local bond/support for wasps too? No idea really.
They went a bit extreme as a back story thenOr because there's far more money to be made from football than there will
Ever be from rugby.
Think it was Otis bought this up a while back, what if Wasps bought the stadium
Under the guise of rugby but always looking at CCFC as the main event.
Stranger things have happened.
I agree. They don't have tbr money, football clubs are money pits and the risk will impact on the bonds, it also goes against their aim of being the biggest and most successful rugby club in Europe. It ain't happening. It's not an issue for me if someone is out to buy us then I don't think it would be wasps anyway.
No reason why any well heeled smart owner of ccfc couldn't negotiate a bloody good deal re the Ricoh, could buy shares even. The club have never owned the Ricoh, only ever paid rent.

They also can't because the bond holders own the ground. Why would Wasps sell shares in their ground?
Why would Wasps do a deal that didn't maximise *their* profit?
That's down to negotiation isn't it, money talks. These statements constantly put about on here that we, ccfc, aren't an attractive bet because "we" don't own a ground I think frankly is rubbish, a decent proper owner could easily get a deal. Why would Wasps sell shares in their ground?

I'm sure they could easily get a deal if they are prepared to pay what wasps want us to pay. Wasps need the money to pay the interest and bonds, they don't make much from the f&b and car parking from our games, so the only way to make money from us is much higher rent. That's down to negotiation isn't it, money talks. It will be done by stealth. It will be Sisu's fault and it will be worth nothing when it's handed over.
Hardly stealth if they told you...
Our club is being distressed then, and the trust are on board????
And of course if Wasps took us on, we would then own our own ground. That's down to negotiation isn't it, money talks. Standard business practiceThey went a bit extreme as a back story then
The bondholders do not own the ground. The lease was simply used as collateral. And the lease was valued at 45m IIRC, which is utterly laughable. They also can't because the bond holders own the ground.
We, the football club, have never owned our ground, the Ricoh that is, just owning 10% would be an improvementAnd of course if Wasps took us on, we would then own our own ground.
The Trust want the club to negotiate with parties to secure future of academy and stadium - sensible suggestion. But in the same breath they won't align themselves with the club which surely is the most obvious of things to do. It comes across as contradictory.
Pretty much, it seems ok for wasps to do this to ccfcFor me it makes no logical sense for this to happen, you would understand if acquiring ccfc meant the stadium and the academy grounds but they have already taken both of them from us without a fight so what is the true value of ccfc to them from a commercial sense? They would absorb a debt ridden club in the third tier of English football with a fractured fan base and little assets on the pitch. Where would revenue go, they would have an uncomfortable split between rugby and football which defies logic.
If their plan was to distress the club to the stage of nothingness to acquire us then they are as bad if not worse than our current owners and the club will be selling its soul to the devil. Still we would have sets of fans coming back as wasps will our saviours and people will be sucking up the media spin on this.
