Never get behind a takeover from a business prepared to up and move a club for money.

It would upset quite a few people so for the two reasons stated above. If that's what it's all about we will be the last to hear about it.

Probably true, alas.

Even nutters have soft spots though. It's where football's broken though, in that in the old days it was local businessman made good and, OK, they were probably an evil bastard, but they wanted an ego trip and their business, their work was still around the people whose club they owned... so even if they fucked up, they felt *some* kind of responsibility to do right by the club by how they got rid of it.

Don't get even that nowadays!

Only slightly better as they have the ground and seem a bit slicker with their business actions .
Morals no different I would say.
Also would shaft us if they needed to.
Never less we would still be better off than we are now.

Fan ownership whilst a nice thought is no good under current rental set up. We'd be resigned to league one (or two) as with sisu.

Maybe wasps ownership is best shot we have of ever rising up the league's again.

I agree. They don't have tbr money, football clubs are money pits and the risk will impact on the bonds, it also goes against their aim of being the biggest and most successful rugby club in Europe. It ain't happening.

That's down to negotiation isn't it, money talks. These statements constantly put about on here that we, ccfc, aren't an attractive bet because "we" don't own a ground I think frankly is rubbish, a decent proper owner could easily get a deal.

I'm sure they could easily get a deal if they are prepared to pay what wasps want us to pay. Wasps need the money to pay the interest and bonds, they don't make much from the f&b and car parking from our games, so the only way to make money from us is much higher rent.

So lets get this straight Italia not only are our shite owners distressing us, but we are also being distressed by Wasps so they can get their grubby little hands on the club, as in your words its all about the money.

It really shows how shallow you are that you would support someone as bad as our current owners to be our new owners, and what a hypocrite you are that you bad mouth SISU and yet positively fawn over Wasps. They are both evils, in respect of ownership.

The bondholders do not own the ground. The lease was simply used as collateral. And the lease was valued at 45m IIRC, which is utterly laughable.

They would absorb a debt ridden club in the third tier of English football with a fractured fan base and little assets on the pitch. Where would revenue go, they would have an uncomfortable split between rugby and football which defies logic.

If their plan was to distress the club to the stage of nothingness to acquire us then they are as bad if not worse than our current owners and the club will be selling its soul to the devil. Still we would have sets of fans coming back as wasps will our saviours and people will be sucking up the media spin on this.

The Trust want the club to negotiate with parties to secure future of academy and stadium - sensible suggestion. But in the same breath they won't align themselves with the club which surely is the most obvious of things to do. It comes across as contradictory.

Pretty much, it seems ok for wasps to do this to ccfc
