As fans, we don't have access to anywhere near enough data, video resources, or time to make properly informed decisions or suggestions.

I'd have liked us to go and find someone who has a distinct style of play and some tactical nouse.

I can suggest a list of people that I'd have spent the time analysing and researching:

Rasmus Bertelsen - Randers
Matt Bloomfield - Wycombe
Uwe Rossler - AGF
Christian Eichner - Karlsruhe
Horst Steffen - Elversburg
Vasco Matos - Santa Clara
Mikkjal Thomassen- AIK
Ron Jans- Utrecht
Rogier Meijer - NEC

Lampard was sat there in the middle of the path, like a rough sleepers shit. Doug didn't just accidentally stand in it. He sniffed it out, talked about it, and still jumped right on top of it.

Meanwhile, we all watched on and are covered in residual splatter

Always love a list like this so will go through and have a look at the managers recommend bar Matt as looked at him when it was rumored.

I do personally disagree on Lamps, in that I don’t think the jury is out yet. He’s done decent at his time here and first year Chelsea but seemingly picked up a knack for picking shit jobs like Chelsea,Everton and maybe us.

Don’t even say this as someone who wanted him in. I was saying it should have been either Ruben Selles, Michael Skubala or Ian Evatt but I genuinely think any manager would struggle with our players where confidence is at the moment.

We’re seeing the same as or worse than what was on display before he came. This says to me there’s a massive attitude problem within the playing squad.

I was there yesterday and my god it was painful. At 1-1 I turned to my kids and said ‘we’re gonna lose this now’. Then my son reminded me that he’d said we were gonna lose after the horrible BTA miss. We’ve just become that team that always find a way to screw it up. I remember the Tottenham game where we did exactly the same thing, it was 4 months ago and we’ve obviously learned nothing.
Up until that point it was an uninspired but hard working performance, the kind of thing that should have earned us at least a point, especially with Dovin playing so well. But the lack of basic professionalism that seems to run through the team in moments of stress has cost us again.
I think Lampard picked the right team, but he still had subs to make at the end. Going into injury time in the lead, but under pressure, every other manager in the Football League would have made subs to break the flow of the game. What was he thinking? At 1-1 he has to make a change and make it as slowly as possible, just to clear our heads. This is the basic professionalism I’m talking about. A bench stuffed with backroom experts and none of them can even tell him that.

Glad we get 3 points for this.

I wish with every fibre of my being that our fans would shut up about our support. Nobody would give a shit if 200 people turned up and sat on their hands, and we won.

Sick of it. We lost but made noise, fucking brilliant that is.

One of my big problems with the whole thing, is that it should have been easy to give them confidence.

We had a lovely run of fixtures and actually, picked up half decent results under Carr.

Get them together, make some tactical changes and you've got a brilliant run of easier games to get results in.

What's actually happened is that we've wasted those matches and now face a run of 8 matches against teams around and above us.

We had to get results and get confidence, to get them playing how a manager wanted. Yet we have pissed that opportunity away and I'm struggling to see where we get over 12 points in the next 24.

Think the problem is that this bunch confidence is on the floor.

You saw that at pompy when we conceded they all folded. Why I am a big believer in having an experienced spine. I feel no matter who we brought in it would have been these problems tbh.

I think in February we’ll see if Lampard is a good fit when he has some backing and more time to get into them at Ryton

Don't really disagree with your assessment of how it's gone so far but it's much too early to start calling for a managers head.

Is it?

If you have made a bad appointment how long have you got to stick with it to give them a fair chance?

He’s shown nothing that suggests he can turn it around. He’s got zero track record of success. It was a gamble. It failed. Why the hell should we spend time and money on it in the naive hope a miracle will happen.

Get shot now, get a real manager in like we should have and rebuild in the summer.

we don’t owe any loyalty to someone just cos we gave them a job. If he was a player you wouldn’t keep playing him despite him being shit, you’d drop him.

He's only had what? 8 games?
Far too early to make a judgement yet.
Our two top goal scorers are injured too in a team that misses lots of big chances and struggles to score.

Over the Xmas and New Year period, we scored 7 goals which looks good but we loaded 4 of those goals v Plymouth.

Lampard needs a transfer window or two to address the clear weaknesses we have. It’s nothing new and was a problem last season too.

He's lost 2 of our biggest goal threats to injury and has took over just before a busy period when time on the training pitch has been more limited than usual
I'd also imagine sacking him will be expensive.

I didn't want him, but he's here and I think we need to give him longer than 8 games.

Really don't want us to go back to burning through managers. Of course if things are bad then you have to but personally I think it's too early to make that call.

Well we were told were getting elite level coaches so I expect them to get the players to somewhere near the level of last winter, additions or no additions.

I just don't think they've had long enough yet and I'm prepared to give them time.

So far he’s been everything fans of previous clubs said he was. Incapable of getting the best out of payers. Reliant one superstars above the level (wait for Wright!). Incapable of instilling a professional culture in the club. Tactically naive with some bizarre team selections.

I think it’s madness to keep holding on and throwing resources at him in the hole he’ll magically turn into someone he’s never been.

I think the problem is the soundbites both King & Lampard came out with.

It was Lampard who said the squad was "quality" "well balanced" & that he'd get them better "very quickly". That clearly hasn't happened, if anything they've got worse.

The whole "elite tactician" thing from King was absolutely ridiculous.

In the rush to deflect away from Lampard people forget that he himself said that.

I said before King made a rod for Frank's back.
Think he did the same for Claire Roberts with his fitness remarks.

He's simultaneously saved us and also done a lot of damage.

He's like chemotherapy!

This lot are mentally and physically weak, how the fuck did they blow that game? Why doesn’t Frank use more subs, Norwich used all 5 and it was obvious we need fresh legs in the last 10 minutes, but he only made 2,1 of which was enforced, he’s no different to Robins.
Remember at the start of the season, we thought we had a massive amount of firepower, but here we are in January and Haji Wright, who hasn’t played since November, is still the top goal scorer with 7! Fucking 7! That is criminal given all the ‘strikers’ we have.
Those players who were laughing and joking right after the end are a bunch of insensitive cunts, right in front of our fans. Why not wait until after the game in the lounges away from the fans.

In five games he’ll have had as long as Robins got without Viveash so I assume at that point it’ll be fine to call for his head if we’re still shit?

Well if you conflate the end of last season as seems to be popular on here then he'll have 11 games to match Robins poor spell.

And clearly that will be used as a stick to beat him with but I didn't agree with people calling for Robins and I won't agree with calling for Lampard unless it gets spectacularly bad, which hopefully it won't.

I decided to watch back the “highlights” and two crucial moments in the game; firstly TBA shocking miss when clean through from Milan’s throw-in. Secondly, in the build up to their equaliser Jake had a routine clearance from a cross field pass, gets it totally wrong and slices it out for a throw. They cross it from the resulting throw-in and I know it’s an amazing finish but the equaliser was totally avoidable. Their winner, was it a foul or a shoulder barge? Fine margins….although our game management was so bad. PUSB

I think after 10 games you’ve seen a good sample generally and should be able to see progress even if there’s more needed. It’s been 9, so unless the next match we finally look like a team with a manager and not a celebrity hanging about for the ride I think I’ve seen enough.

Answer the questions put to him in the usual, media savvy way that all other managers do.

"The squad has quality, we need to do some work with them" Blah, blah blah.

Nobody asked him about the balance of the squad or how long it would take for things to improve. For someone with so much media training & experience to create a rod for his own back the way he did was incredibly naïve.

Yes, but there’s obvious gaps in the team whether or not the coaches are elite or not.

Without Haji or EMC in the team, you’d be mad not to give the benefit of the doubt because before EMC got injured, we looked a better team under FL than MR.

I think Lampard had to make another change, maybe something like Torp for BTA.

I know that he wanted BTA to be there to challenge and get onto clearances but the ball was just coming back at us. He could have wasted a bit of time and killed the game while doing it. Fucking hell he could have even brought Binks on just to help with the onslaught as let's face it, BTA was doing fuck all.

We were trying to clear it and it was just coming back at us and BTA was bottling everything.

Well the obvious gap is experience. And no one will convince me that stripping it from the squad was Robins doing but hopefully Lampard is allowed to remedy that.

As for looking a better team under Lampard, not sure about that.
I still think the best I've seen us this season was 2nd half v Sunderland under Carr!
