Is it?
If you have made a bad appointment how long have you got to stick with it to give them a fair chance?
He’s shown nothing that suggests he can turn it around. He’s got zero track record of success. It was a gamble. It failed. Why the hell should we spend time and money on it in the naive hope a miracle will happen.
Get shot now, get a real manager in like we should have and rebuild in the summer.
we don’t owe any loyalty to someone just cos we gave them a job. If he was a player you wouldn’t keep playing him despite him being shit, you’d drop him.
I think after 10 games you’ve seen a good sample generally and should be able to see progress even if there’s more needed. It’s been 9, so unless the next match we finally look like a team with a manager and not a celebrity hanging about for the ride I think I’ve seen enough.
The whole reason for all the unrest among the fans at the moment is that senior figures at the club (Lampard included) have failed to manage expectations.
Can you confirm that you actually, genuinely mean this? Or is this another “I was just pretending to want the manager sacked because I was upset”’ routine?Get shot now, get a real manager in like we should have and rebuild in the summer.
We’ve been without our best player the whole time he’s been in charge and then our best player under FL got injured.
Going through the team yesterday, the whole starting 11 had scored 10 goals between them.
You’d already made your mind up on Lampard so you will just plough through the basic fact that we’ve been without our best players and the team needs improvement.

Pretty sure you’re in the minority again in that case.I have very few expectations for this season based off what I’ve eeen and especially when Wright was injured

The fanbase has been sold a team that’s ready to compete for promotion.
I never wanted him here because he’s an awful manager and now he is here being an awful manager I don’t want him here.
You wanted robins sacked and haven't stopped crying about the fucker.
Well the obvious gap is experience. And no one will convince me that stripping it from the squad was Robins doing but hopefully Lampard is allowed to remedy that.
As for looking a better team under Lampard, not sure about that.
I still think the best I've seen us this season was 2nd half v Sunderland under Carr!
This is because we had Haji Wright who terrorised Sunderland’s defence. EMC was another player able to do that but without both of them, you’ve got a toothless attack.
Yesterday, we were without Sakamoto, Wright and EMC. A draw was going to be bloody good result. Yesterday, despite the absences, we looked better v Norwich than home under Robins and away in Feb 2024 where the game followed the same pattern of going 1-0, missing a sitter and going on to lose 2-1.
You can’t underestimate the impact of having Haji Wright in the team. He gets goals and assists and can beat opposition defenders.
I'm sorry but we did not look better yesterday than we did away at Norwich in Feb. We were battering them second half in that game and looked like we were going to get something even with 10 men. Yesterday it was only a matter of time before they scored, they were all over us for most of the game and it was mainly Dovin and luck keeping us in the game. This is because we had Haji Wright who terrorised Sunderland’s defence. I’m liking the way we’re scoring goals at the far post and Lampard has been quite flexible to change things up. The games have come too thick and fast to embed the tactical changes or make material changes. What have you seen that you like?

Unlike you, I reserve judgement before writing off players and managers. Lampard is without our best player and EMC who’s been our best player in Haji’s absence. You’re missing 2 key players, most teams would struggle and v Norwich, we missed a 3rd key player. What did you expect? We did well to go into stoppage time 1-0 up.
I said that things wouldn’t change much even if we sacked Robins because of the glaring gaps in the team. IIRC, you wanted Robins to be sacked and Lampard was objectively the best candidate in the field so you got your wish and still moaning.
Any new manager, or even if we kept Robins, needs this transfer window and probably the next one to build the defence and midfield areas. That was obvious as soon as the transfer window closed in August.
While I agree with much of that post I'm not sure Saka would have made much of a difference yesterday.
Appreciate he scored at Cardiff but he's been particularly poor away from home this season.
Who was the best candidate then?I mean you don’t RC, but I’m not sure it’s relevant and I’m not getting into that tediousness again. But claiming Lampard was the best available is hilarious. We resurrected him from the scrap pile. There were several more promising managers we could have gone for.
Who was the best candidate then?
Top of the xAwaysupport at leastGlad we get 3 points for this.
We weren’t battering themthey had 60% possession and 21 shots compared to our 8.I'm sorry but we did not look better yesterday than we did away at Norwich in Feb. Names please. For someone so critical of Lampard you’d think you’d have had a clear preference on a few people you’d have preferred.Id have taken any up and coming manager. The Scandinavian guy looked the ideal of at all possible, I’d have taken someone lower leagues as well. Anyone that had shown anything like the ability to get the most of our their players. Lampard was a failed celeb manager who no one was touching with a barge pole until King rocked up.

Did any of these men you describe even apply for the job? Probably not.
Lampard wasn’t a failed manager and only an armchair manager would make such a dumb analogy. Add that to your clangers about Wright being ‘better Bakayoko’ and about EMC.
I just watched the final five minutes again and was going to make the point about Bidwell - someone mentioned earlier in the thread that Dasilva would have been slaughtered for such an error. I think it was a foul on Lati personally but it was also incredibly weak from Simms just before that, he didn't win the header and then could easily have taken their player out to stop him passing up the line. Fine margins but consistent errors are killing us. Just totally deflating.I decided to watch back the “highlights” and two crucial moments in the game; firstly TBA shocking miss when clean through from Milan’s throw-in. Secondly, in the build up to their equaliser Jake had a routine clearance from a cross field pass, gets it totally wrong and slices it out for a throw. They cross it from the resulting throw-in and I know it’s an amazing finish but the equaliser was totally avoidable. Their winner, was it a foul or a shoulder barge? Fine margins….although our game management was so bad. PUSB
Yeh that's. Good point tbf. Bidwell not been mentioned but if jds did exact same thing there would have been so many postsI just watched the final five minutes again and was going to make the point about Bidwell - someone mentioned earlier in the thread that Dasilva would have been slaughtered for such an error. Why did no club go after Mark Robins for over a year before he rejoined us in 2017?Why did no club go after him other than us for a year?
Would much rather have got Steve Cooper. Far better pedigree.Id have taken any up and coming manager. He did because he turned down chances to return to management. Why did no club go after him other than us for a year?

Wretched shite but I’m not even close to thinking about judging Lampard yet.
