O'Hare bids (2 Viewers)

Joke isn’t it

Jokes have a feed line and a punch line. Normally people wait for the punch line before reacting to the joke. If it turns out none of a large incoming fee gets used for a replacement, that'll be sh*t and will lose the owners a lot of goodwill.

From what I can tell, all of the assumptions being made about that being the outcome are based on one comment from one poster on here. I doubt they've been 100% with every post they've ever made so while I understand the position, it feels like people are desperate to find with a stick to beat the club with in case the worst happens.

In the past, some sale funds were re-invested. Evidence is there of that happening. I don't see why that's worth so much less to some people than one comment on here. I'm encouraged that low-ball offers seem to have been knocked back and I'll wait and see how it pans out.

So we are moaning about a young loanee in to replace somebody who was themselves a young loanee?

It's like if we lose / release / sell a player we got for free and moan that we replace them with somebody who is also free.

he was a young loanee in a league 1 team, who to begin with wasn't a guaranteed starter. I know you don't rate him but it's likely to be a regressive step if he goes, it's unlikely we'll get a player of his standard as replacement

Yeah there is obviously the risk of not getting anybody else in at all.

All I am saying is that we don't really know yet, O'Hare didn't start the first 4 games in League 1 but then he started the majority (with a few sub appearances scattered about) and played 90.

It's too early to start losing our shit until:

a. it happens
b. we get a replacement who is shit
c. we don't get a replacement at all

Chill out, it was a joke

We are in a strong position
Fulham offered £5m plus a huge salary and got turned down
Burnley will have to offer substantially more
Mind you COH would fit into the Burnley ethos, never say die, up and at 'em
What are we holding out for to sell COH to Burnley?

Don't know the figure but it's pretty unlikely we will accept a bid anytime soon
The lad's contract has two years to run
We aren't in desperate financial straights
So we can hold out until very late in the window and hope that whichever club(s) are interested make us an offer we can't refuse

I still don’t understand how people are listening to some tweets from a lad from Rugby whose dad is a Burnley fan and pretends he’s in the know.
There may be legs in the rumour but some of the crap being spouted with regards to tweets of people clearly not in the know is amazing.

Indeed, said the same last night, he covered the U18s a couple of seasons back

Yeah so that last line sounds a silly idea, unless we have "a duck in a row" ready to come in.

The Ribble Valley is a lovely area and far nicer than Solihull tbf mate
Burnley itself isn't a huge attraction. I've only been there 2 or 3 times whist living in Manchester area. Some might say Coventry isn't glamorous either but it's better and a top stadium and being local to him as well. I'm sure he can get other offers with similar or better money with better medium term prospects.

I think the club have been open and the same noises from @Skybluebeliever who is close to the club that it’s likely we have to sell a player for a big fee this summer
I understand that but the most reputable source we have so far for O'Hare going to Burnley is TalkSh*te.

Unless one of those clubs offer what we want for any of the three, I don't think they'll go in this window.

I'll be gutted if O'Hare leaves.

So what your saying is Burnley’s a shit tip?! 😆

If I was COH, I would only move to a better situation for him. Burnley isn't a step up particularly and the location is inferior to where he is now as being from Solihull. Burnley isn't exactly glamorous as someone based near Bury.
COH is very talented and I would be setting my ambitions higher. He will always get offers so no need to jump at this.

Lots of people getting very bent out of shape about scenarios they’ve made up.

I for one will be very annoyed if we sell Moore and Wilson and start the season with Cian Tyler in goal.

Hopefully don't leave it too late though!

Hmm a lot of this sounds like complete guesswork if I'm honest. Pretty conflicting with other reports.

As others have said the last line doesn't even make sense. Sounds like we're back in the January window of 2015/16.

If it was as nearly a done deal as suggested, I'm more than a bit surprised he was involved against Wolves U23s yesterday. Why would the club risk a player on the verge of a big money move. Would seem odd to me.

Because if Robins leaves him out that automatically tells interested parties that either he now wants to go or the club are looking to sell/resigned to him leaving.

Hardly puts the club in a strong negotiating position.
