Palmer leaving (25 Viewers)

I struggle to remember many games where Palmer’s individual performance was crucial to us picking up points. His goal vs Bristol last Saturday might have been the first one he’s scored for us that actually meant anything off the top of my head. All his other goals came either in losses or late on in games where we were already winning I think.
This is correct. I've heard people refer to him as a match winner. He's the polar opposite of a match winner. I've referred to him a few times as a conman. Brilliant at it in fairness. If he has somehow secured a deal on £25k a week it's actually unbelievable. Seems to have bluffed his way through the last 7-8 years of his career.

let's get this into perspective. it's not mve, sheaf, wright, simms, saka...
the fact that we can't agree on whether palmer is good value for money or not must tell us something.
good player, but too expensive week on week for what we get back.

thanks for the good stuff, kp. and good luck.

I don't disagree with some of what you say there, but on pass completion...

You often use the stat to try and support an argument?

Did you even read the quote from KDB?

Yes clearly but I can list loads of pass completion stats you’ve used if you wish.

I don’t know if it’s because you watch most games on a PC rather than live but palmers off the ball movement and stamina is appalling.

I’ve said many times he’s a throwback to the 70’s - a player who can create on the ball but cannot cope with the rigours of modern day football.

The reality is this so called brilliant footballer was paid off by his former club, has played I think 4 premier league games and has never been a first choice even at championship level.

The only stat that ever really counts is your career - and his career is the man who never made it big and never will

Again with the totally made up thing about me apparently not attending games, I don't know why you persist with it. Shall I just start making some stuff up about you and repeating it?

You have this weird thing with Palmer. You've barely been on the football forum for weeks (remember your 'suggestion' thread a little while ago?) then when there's talk of Palmer leaving you're all over it again.

Don't worry, he's leaving. You can get back to focusing all your anger at Jay Dasilva again.

Not seen much drivel posted towards DaSilva from Grendel this season , must mean he's been playing well

I'm not sure why people are making out he's useless , the better word would be ill disciplined.. can be great and can be shite , does the wrong thing plenty of times in matches but does some brilliant things .

He's hot and cold but unfortunately we need more

Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit

I like KP but as others have said, he's effect on games is inconsistent. Clearly has bags of ability but can't do it often enough.

I would say I'm more concerned about us missing him for his ability to get stuck in on the opposition rather than what he creates. He might be shit at the defensive stuff generally, but we don't have many players that carry much needed aggression. I hope we can sign someone who can give us a bit of fight and grit before the day is out.

Indeed. Palmer is more the sort of player that shines when the team are in control and he takes the piss out of the opposition, But he's not the type of player that will get a team having a bad game out of the doldrums.
I completely disagree with this, he's the type of player that tries passes that others don't so when we are struggling to break teams down it gives players a lift seeing him come in. He gets a lot more stick than he deserves which is probably down to his perceived wages more than anything.

That's what I've always liked about Palmer.
He can lose his head a bit, and you can see a red card potentially incoming at times unless he is subbed off but he does have that aggression and bite that we are sometimes lacking.

It's why I like Kitching as well and would like him to get more game time
