I mean none of us have seen his scans, have we?His fitness could be at any level, you have no idea?
If he's been training with us for a week then the staff will have a good idea though.

Obviously if Lampard and co think he's got something to offer then maybe we offer him a contract - I'm not expecting an immediate contribution if we do though, that's for sure
Why do you think he couldn't get a game at Charlotte?Exactly, hence you can't really say he didn't play because he was unfit etc etc.
We have no idea in reality, he could have a Jamie Allen style engine or he could be a Rooney where he looks at a burger and puts on 4 stone.
Why do you think he couldn't get a game at Charlotte?
It's the Charlotte FC reserve teamJust done a bit of lunchtime googling. It appears J-Patz has been playing for a team called Crown Legacy FC as well as Charlotte. I think they play in a development/reserves league.
But they had a years option on his contract too which they declined to take up.So you have no idea
They only played 12 games while he was there, you can hardly read much into it.
The MLS is a pretty decent standard of league these days. The name of Charlotte's junior team doesn't really change that.Crown Legacy FC. The MLS really is the absolute pits.

I'm sure you regularly watch MLS gamesIt really isn't. It's still very much a retirement league that attracts oversees players which aren't interested in anything other than a final pay check.
No self-respecting footballer in their prime years would ever consider playing there and it shows by the standard.
The quality of defending makes our back line look like AC Milan's in the 90s.

If 7k a week is breaking the bank it's simple. We're fucked. With the club on this one. If he can help great, but let's not break the bank for an out of contract journeyman who has previously turned us down if it means we can't get another CM in.

Even if we signed him, he’s not being brought in as the main man but a squad player. Someone with 13 or so goal contributions last season isn’t to be sniffed at.

7k a week is breaking the bank, Jesus Christ if we’re struggling to pay new players that we’re in massive troubleOr maybe it's breaking the bank for him and more than what is deemed worth.

Careful, we'll have Partey , Sigurdsson and Greenwood wanting to sign.7k a week and a year supply of Rapeseed oil, that should seal it.
It's £7k more than an unemployed footballer is paidThis is demonstrably untrue - MLS salaries are all published every year as part of the players' union agreement with the league. Paterson was on $534,000 a year, which works out at roughly £8,400 a week. £7k would be a pay cut.
MLS Players Salary Guide | MLS Players Association
Every year the MLS Player Association releases our annual salary guide, listing each player in the MLS along with their current salary. We see this transparency as an extremely important part of our mission to support and protect the player community.mlsplayers.org
Or we haven't got a pot to piss in and he's the cheapest available option?
pato wants 7k a week
Cov refusing to offer that
he was on 15k in America
The funny thing is you think we are signing someone else this window. It's not that £7k is breaking the bank, but we have a squad value and rules to follow. If that £7k means we can't afford to pay our potential incoming midfielder eg £18k then it's more breaking the structure that enables us to improve, when arguably he's a risk.
I don’t have any inside info on this but I would be amazed if Pato even started training with us with a view to earning a contract unless his package requirements were seen to be broadly ok.
