I don't get the clamour for Bassette, has he done something I've not seen?

I’m not convinced he is ready to start yet but I do think he is a very promising youngster and I hope he gets plenty of minutes from the bench.

With Bidwell out, surely we need to switch to a back 3, allowing Dasilva to play LWB his natural position. We can also bring back Lati or Binks as the 3rd CB. It allows us to play 2 central strikers, or a SS / CF. I can see Sakamoto and Thomas-Asante being useful in that central role behind the main CF.

Only change for me would be to move Thomas in the centre and move Joel on the right.

Completely forgot Tavares was a Coventry player until he made the bench last game, and I'm guessing that was because of injuries to other players.
Really should have tried to get a loan or move out in the summer
I think Reading tried to sign him on loan on transfer deadline day but for whatever reason it obviously didn’t happen, he definitely needs a move in January as he will only make the bench when we have a few out injured.

Tatsu injured, Simms been poor cant play on right, Wright needs to be shown he is droppable, Bassette hasnt proven he can play on the right.
Tavares tore apart a premier league fullback in Wan Bissaka pretty sure he’ll be okay vs Preston
Avante guard that, disagree on Simms having played brilliantly in the right wing slot perfectly in the second half up there last time, that leaves another question though who else was on the pitch at that point Haji playing centrally or someone else?
My loose memory of the match involves us nearly making a valiant comeback, would welcome input from attendants here!

I think if we can get Thomas-Asante and Bassette up top we will have bags of energy and movement. That's what we have been lacking offensively.
That was my thinking with the suggested line up. Still needs Wright to be on it though otherwise the press is ineffective.

'Ney, ney ney' :ROFLMAO:

Basically the commentary team don't have anything against Wilson so are calling it out as it was. A pathetic own goal that you would expect to see in Sunday league.

You don't really have a leg to stand on (a real life pun here) when you're calling for a certain goalkeeper who basically looks as shit as Collins and Wilson to be our first and foremost. Frankly it just looks like another waste of money at this point.

The silence regarding his calamity tonight only proves all of this further.

The truth is if Dovin isn’t what we need then none of our keepers are and we’ve wasted £2 million+ on the position. One case where Doug’s endless pursuit of profit has taken us to another prospect in a position where what you really want is a safe pair of hands.

Plenty of those hanging around not getting much game time at good levels that we could have gone for if we really wanted to spend on it. Still, Doug knows best.

Yep this was also the game where we switched away from 5 at the back for the first time in however long and our results transformed over night from that point. Simms came on as a sub on the right, we started playing the ball in front of Simms into space for him to run onto and looked very impressive. We sometimes seem to play Simms in an isolated target man role in the centre to hold the ball up etc which no doubt can do, but I don't think personally is the best use of Simms' attributes.

In my opinion, Simms looks most effective when running onto the ball or coming in from wide. Just watch the highlights reel.

My view is that our squad is full of very good players, it's just the formula hasn't been found to play to all of their strengths.

Laugh all you want its just my opinion, at the end of the day would you rather watch Wright bundle around again like he’s undroppable and never play EMC in his natural position and see what he can do on the Left.
Would you want to see Simms over Asante up front at the moment I wouldnt, its Asante’s shirt to lose.
Same goes for Bassette (although I’d like to see him).
People were saying Tavares was our 3rd choice RW, well EMC clearly isnt any good there and Tatsu is out
Wright should be starting every week. Only question for Preston is whether he'll suffer from the travel.

Tavares shouldn't be anywhere near the 11 without an injury crisis.

He had a chance to get some minutes from the bench when he stood there all ready to come on but Mr Robins changed his mind
