biblically people get very caught up in the old testament.

The New Testament is a much better framework for living.

Jesus was a man who showed acceptance to all people, prostitutes, gamblers etc.

I’d like to think that Guehi’s writing was showing Jesus love for all people, rather than being anti LGBT.

People view Christianity as very black and white when in fact there are many shades of grey

If Guehi’s intention was showing inclusion he didn’t need to write anything.

And from his dad’s comments it clearly wasn’t. So let’s nip that one in the bud.

I have no issue if someone wants to believe in a certain religion, but once it starts being used to impact the lives of others and discriminate against them, it's wrong.
Well in fairness nobody would know what morsy thought about it all if players weren't constantly told to play activist all the time ? So nobody would be impacted

use the scoreboard and advertising boards etc .. leave players get on with their jobs .

Let's be honest if you follow religion properly then there is very little doubt the opinion held on sexuality, unfortunately a colourful captains armband isn't going to change over 2000 years worth of indoctrination

Just leave people alone really , we have laws in place to protect people who are ill treated because of their sexuality / race etc

I do follow religion properly, I go to church every Sunday and have for the last 26 years.

There are gay people in our congregation.

this is what I’m saying, Christianity is a spectrum and not as rigid as something like Islam.

the general public perception of Christianity is it’s all Church of England goers when it’s not the case at all.

But what does Christianity say about sexuality

If the goal of the campaign is to raise awareness and help solidarity with the gay community then it seems like knowing where Morsy stands is quite helpful? Or maybe you think his views should be hidden/protected?

That looks and sounds like the old if you don’t say it we won’t see it. We’re beyond that now aren’t we

Wow follow religion properly. So I clearly don’t
Pete we are both Christian’s but judging by your posts we both go to very different kind of churches.

im sure you’ll agree Christianity is about acceptance more than anything else and Jesus accepted all kind of people

im not using any more energy on the discussion, it’s always gonna be a contentious topic. It’s why I’ve kept my religion off this board before

So homosexuality is accepted in Christianity but all ?
Course it is completely accepted and always has been. The issue is over practicing that physically.
I disagree but still love my fellow Christians who have different strongly held opinions on it
However under god we are all equal and under the laws of the land discrimination on the grounds of sexuality is illegal
People can have and express these strong beliefs without falling foul of the law morally or criminally

Oh no I feel we belong to very similar ones and certainly share a common belief on this
Have got in serious trouble advocating for our silent gay members when leadership have been so unloving towards them

Look my point is let's not pretend generally that homosexuality is looked upon favourably within religion , so why bother asking people to do something they don't want to do as long as they live within the laws of the land leave them be .

Find better ways to make your point

Regarding Morsy - His religion is protecting him from the onslaught. Too many people are scared to go after Islam so he's essentially allowed to get away with it. Doubt we would see so much playing down of this if a catholic of christian was doing it.

It seems in a related, albeit slightly different message, it is a bit easier to go after Guhei.

I can only go on my own faith anyway. I know I’m accepting and I’m sure many others are.

Lazy to lump in all religions together in an assumption though.

Islam for example is a religion more in line with following practice whereas Christianity, at least for me, is more about a relationship with God.

im done with the topic and off to read more on the other sub forum about why Sheaf is shit

Well we can say that many people have died because they are gay in deeply religious countries
Again, I was talking about Christianity and you are talking about religion as a whole.

john Fashanu famously humiliated his brother that much he ended up killing himself. He’s not religious.

Would you prefer to see an onslaught?
