Lets get something crystal clear, I wouldn't want to be involved with ACL, Sisu, CCC or anyone else in this sorry mess.
Secondly whereas it might benefit these kids and everything is great and I respect them for making the most out of a bad situation, however do you think this Academy is going to really bring in the cash for ACL? Sorry I don't see it..
Can I just ask, why either of you think ACL (a private ltd company), would effectively pay an academy to use their facilities?
Seriously? How much are they charging this non-league team in order to make a profit? Either the team are very well off and can afford the charges or ACL are selling themselves short. I fully expect them to try and install a new franchise, but really this is laughable. They could have approached Sphinx and at least be guaranteed some local support.
I wonder if this is part of the golden future Lucas had in mind.
I never said they would however I can't see much profit in it for ACL whether it's for a Rich club or not..

So you're not going to answer the questions i asked you then?
TBF I feel this thread is blowing this totally out of proportion! It's clearly not a strategic move from ACL and whether they make or lose a few pounds is totally irrelevant.

Of course they shouldn't wait around but is this really the best business deal financially?
So you agree that ACL will make out of it?
No one on this thread has claimed this to be a massive coup for Acl, just a small steady income to supplement their other activities.
I have never run my own business so I couldn't say.

Doesn't matter if they're rich or not what baring does that have??

It might be a very shrewd move with in the context of the Arena's wider use - under the scrutiny of the Judicial Review?!? As such, it could be a good deal if it helps sanctify the £14m loan....

It costs £20K a season to join FootballCV so you would imagine they can afford to pay a hire fee for the Ricoh. Nothing gives any indication that ACL are losing money on this other than a few of the regulars on here trying to imply it's the case.

Sorry, but this is just a joke.
Fine to let a team play at the Ricoh, but if someone is getting to play on it for next to nothing then surely a local Coventry team such as Coventry United or Sphinx would be the way to go. Why some youth team from a completely different county?
It's daft at best and at worst, very embarrassing.
Doesn't this just state the obvious that the Ricoh is available for next to nothing and if that's the case, Coventry City should be playing there.

And some people are cheering the decision and don't wanna know the costs etc. It's laughable, Coventry City fans get the club they deserve.

Who is paying for floodlights, pitch maintenance, heating, initial preparation to get it ready, health and safety checks, hot water, cleaning the changing rooms? The tooth fairy?
Back to clutching at straws again - I hope my mate fish is getting royalties for this.
Well you seem to have an answer for everything else so naturally I would have thought that easy questions like I asked should be a doddle. The 'BEARING' it has is that they can pay for what they are using rather than being gifted it. Finally, if you have never ran your own business, how would you know whether this was the 'best business deal financially' or not?
You talk like ACL have been approaching people like they should have approached Sphinx, how do you know that this other team never came knocking on ACL's door (you don't), you're asking questions then call it laughable when you do not even have an inkling to the answers, just more guess work on your part. ACL have to start somewhere don't they in moving on, maybe now we will see some plans from Sisu/Otium for the new stadium as they have been moving on for nearly a year and to date have shown us one cartoon image and that someone from somewhere asked something about grass but didn't follow it up for some reason.
Because the acadamy is vital to the coventry commuity?

Your joking right? I can imagine fisher, seppella and waggot reading this and saying "this is moving on right" and laughing. It's further evidence the place is a white elephant - ultimately it could become a huge burden to the Coventry taxpayer if this is allowed to carry on. I worry for the citizens of the city, I really do.
Of course not. They've always earnt their crust from the resident football team.It costs £20K a season to join FootballCV so you would imagine they can afford to pay a hire fee for the Ricoh. Where did I put "moving on" in my post? The pitch is obviously being maintained by ACL at the moment so I would assume they have budgeted for that already. We don't know how much this bunch are paying nor do we know the financial state of ACL. You state that the Coventry Taxpayer is funding this which suggests you have some knowledge of the deal- do you want to share that with the rest of us? You previously stated that if ACL continued to make the loan repayments for the term of the loan then the council are making a minor profit off of it. How does that statement square with your claim on this thread? Will you ever offer your opinion of the shop analogy put forward by Mr Labovitch, the one my boss commented on which you dismissed.
Yes it's annoying that it isn't a team from Coventry playing there, especially us.
Well, if they are moving on then they should approach people, shouldn't they?
But if we take ACL at their word (no-one has evidence to the contrary), this just backs that up by the fact that people are approaching them, or do you disagree?
Much a do about nothing
"private academy uses a pitch 8 times in a year shocker"
dont get the hype over this at all.
