don’t give a shit where he’s from, I’d take him over Lampard, based on his record.

RVN is the sexy appointment, but also dangerous. Will he adapt to managing in the Championship? Will he really buy into CCFC and its ambitions? No doubt ,if he's even semi successful, he'd be off.
Lampard would be a more solid appointment. Managed in the Championship before, and would need to prove himself (at Cov) in the Premier League before others would start circling.
Carsley would fit the mould for us more, based on what King is looking for, but managing/coaching young international players for one-off games is very different than a 46 game Championship season. Would he be too nice?

Sexy and dangerous?
I'm sold!

I just joined the chat seen evatt mentioned , seen a few dismiss it and simply offered a reason why he might not be as bad as people make out , he plays attacking football , is young and has a very good record over a sustained period at 2 clubs

seems a chunk of our fans have now been seduced by the glitz of a big name, irrespective of whether or not they’ve ever achieved anything that indicates they’d be a success

Look ive been banging the drum for Ian.

42 with a 50% win rate over three years is ridiculous, plays the same shape we currently do with a possession philosophy. Works with a director of football as well.

I love watching non league and loved watching his Barrow team. Understand it’s not a name and might be underwhelming for some but think he would suit us brilliantly.

Ring, I’ve been pitching Ian from the start. I’m very happy with this update and would take him as my number one target.

Just got called crazy too many times that I have to celebrate people joining in 🤣

Yeah I know, I’m agreeing.

I’m beyond bored looking at all the same ‘big names’ being discussed ad nauseam, when people like this are out there and not getting a mention.

Never thought I’d see me and Evo agreeing over a manager target 🤣
Well for me it wouldn't be a bad appointment and better than bloomfield and Keane, I just don't think doug wants that kind of profile because really it's obvious he would rather a high profile that will draw more attention to the club .

I can't say lampard will be a better manager because I'm not entirely sure he will be

It isn’t an exciting appointment and runs the risk of the average fan getting bored of watching compared to Lampard managing. I’m not against it though.

why does it mean the fans would get bored? The guy has a reputation for attacking football.

It’s ok to not have him as preferred candidate, but some of the garbage justifications- “failing”, “not exciting”, “bored”, really just shows how clueless some of our fans are.

Dont disagree but you don’t win promotion on a name. Same issue Birmingham found last year.

Full disclosure still think Lampard would be decent
