No it’s not at all and suggests you don’t really know the backstory of either. Up until 2020 Skubala was managing University football and then had a spell at Leeds u23.

Since 2013 RVN has had various spells in the academy at PSV, Assisted Guus Hiddink at a World Cup, Managed Jong PSV for 2 seasons, managed the first team and was then brought to Man United.

RVN has way more to him than Skubala

Any managerial appointment has a massive risk element though.
I've seen appointments really heralded quickly go to shit and other appointments that are met with disdain turn out to be really succesful.

Obviously clubs have got to look at CVs and track records and meet people in person to assess candidates but it's a bit of a lottery and even if they get it right someone comes in and poaches them!

This could be some Monday for me - RVN & a new Jamiroquai tour announcement all on the same day
The lesson of the reaction so far to this Baldy is never ever to share your musical tastes on here (except if you want the usual SBT balanced reaction: ‘crap’, ‘twats’ ‘listen to Ska’ ‘they fcuking didn’t play WLADITT.’). 😀

He’s had multiple coaching roles, worked as an assistant manger in the past so he hasn’t really had 1 job
Managerial job. He hasn't had dmuch time to fail fair to say?

I'm not even anti ruud. Just don't get wanting him so much but also being so against lampard getting it

Well considering we are appointing a head coach rather than a manager his coaching experience will be just as valuable.

Well that’s your opinion. Answer me this: if rvn had been a L2 journeyman striker with the exact managerial experience he currently has would you be encouraging his appointment? The answer is no. So we’re taking a punt on a name.

Has RVN got as much experience as Skubala yes or no?

Ex was a PSV supporter. Take RvN's playing career out of it, go back a month and tell me that we are sacking Robins for a guy that finished second in the Dutch league with Eindhoven with Gakpo, Manueke, Simons, van aanhalt, branthwaite, Luke de Jong, Fabio Silva, Savio I would have told you to go f~©✓~=°¢✓•{$×%= yourself. Getting Derby in the playoffs is a much more impressive achievement - Mason Mount be damned!!
No strong views on Edwards. It feels like one of those - could work/probably won't appointments.
Didn't he lose most of those mid season?
From what I've seen PSV fans were pretty happy with him.

just no. Carsley has done NOTHING of note in his managerial career either

Just reminders of what Mark Robins had achieved as a Manager before the first time in joined us ?

I tell you what I find crazy. You have grown adults on here saying they don't want a manager who will do well because he'll leave first chance he gets

And then also saying they don't want a manager who plays good football because they don't think that style will keep us up in the prem

I mean fucking hell just focus on somehow getting promotion first will you???????

People have to realise a 7 year tenure will likely never happen again. Any new manager has a flight risk, average tenure of jobs currently 11 months.

Whether successful or not, we are likely doing this again within 2 years.
That's another thing. Most on here must be in 30s or older. They know long tenures are not the norm. Why are people crying about fact not gonna have managers lasting 7 years every single time now? I could understand a kid being like that who only knows the robins era but not older fans

It is a fair debate though, how long is enough time for it to be clear that it's genuinely not working with a new manager? One season, less?

Differs. Everyone could tell Slade didn't deserve more time for example.
Aye but that squad was doomed irrespective of the manager by that point. Let's take the MR replacement, how long is enough time? Going around sacking managers on an annual basis just seems expensive and inefficient

Happens at Chelsea and they always winning

Watford did it too and always seemed to be in promotion mix for years?

May work for us may not. No way of telling for now
