Does a science teacher *need* to do live experiments with an element of risk? Why not just read about them in a book? Do teachers need to take kids on school trips? Why not just take them on Google Maps where it’s safe?

Teaching about homosexuality and women’s rights offends some religions. Teaching evolution offends some religions. Mixing boys and girls offends some religions. Why is this one the one we should listen to?

I’m offended by what’s taught in Business and Economics, I disagree with a lot of what’s taught in PSE, I know lots of activists who disagree with what’s taught in history and lots of English teachers who disagree with what’s taught in English lessons.

Funnily enough, they suck it up or campaign for change to the government. None of them send death threats or shut down schools.

You don’t have a right not to take offence. That’s not a thing and it wouldn’t be practical even if it was. The teacher warned students ahead of time (a practice the science on is considerably iffy but is the current accepted way of teaching potentially triggering content), his job was done.

What if those expectations interfere with another groups expectations?
And the answer of course is yes they should be attentive to those beliefs.
I’ll add a but although I don’t know the answer the but is which expectations trumps the other? We live in a secular society with laws that cover areas of discrimination. And rules that govern what can be taught in public education. That is a teaching issue for me and not a faith one. So I think and as I say I don’t know about this, I think societies expectation that the teaching profession teach trumps the parents expectation that their faith should be respected. If you pushed me.
As I say I wouldn’t deliberately offend a fellow human being but if I saw someone being murdered for sharing a picture I’d politely point out that surely murder is more offensive than showing the picture

I think you’re confusing acceptance with practicing.
I assume you didn’t make the Muslim students take a bite of the bacon sandwich? Of course you didn’t. Same thing, look at the cartoon all you like, eat a bacon sandwich all you like. But don’t share that image with Muslim students the same as you wouldn’t share a bacon sandwich with Muslim students.

I just try to respect other people’s beliefs systems. I've probably been in 3 mosques, pretty sure that's not a rule. Also no rule forcing anyone to go to church. As for cross burnings, I think there's very different reasons people wouldn't want to be doing that.

Neither of those groups were trying to suppress the freedom of speech and expression for religious reasons. We live in a secular state, not a theocracy and if it matters that much to them yes they are free to go anywhere they like. Where you got ‘he wants to turf them out’ from I’m less sure.
