No, but waiting until mid August because no club was interested until then isn’t the greatest look on him either. How did he lead the club on? Did we genuinely think he was going to turn down a £15 million move to a Premier League club?
You’re saying fans are upset with him because he didn’t move until a club was actually interested in signing him?No, but waiting until mid August because no club was interested until then isn’t the greatest look on him either.
Because he was a great player for the club who left. It’s hardly anything new. You’re saying fans are upset with him because he didn’t move until a club was actually interested in signing him?
Just like Gyokeres - and yet!Because he was a great player for the club who left. It’s hardly anything new.
He got us the most money and told the club well in advance what his plans were. He is also a far better player than Hamer and COH.Just like Gyokeres - and yet!
I find it odd that a player telling us he doesn’t want to be here anymore is now a display of honourable virtue (as if Hamer and O’Hare’s motivations weren’t also completely transparent, and were monetised by the club to the maximum extent possible). But again - however people want to rationalise it.He got us the most money and told the club well in advance what his plans were. He is also a far better player than Hamer and COH.
There isn’t any heavy thinking required to work it out!
That's exactly it isn't it? Gus and Vik both wanted to play at a higher level. Vik was good enough that he immediately got an offer to go, or already had something lined up before the end of the season, where Gus was left waiting as the offers weren't flooding in.You’re saying fans are upset with him because he didn’t move until a club was actually interested in signing him?

Of course I am.Yet you are struggling
It’s people telling themselves stories about good players moving to better teams for more money. That's exactly it isn't it? Gus and Vik both wanted to play at a higher level. Vik was good enough that he immediately got an offer to go, or already had something lined up before the end of the season, where Gus was left waiting as the offers weren't flooding in.
The longer that went on people started thinking he might end up staying. When he finally went the season had already started which gave people the idea that he'd had the club over and not left us time to get a replacement in.
Don't think it's anymore complicated than that.
i think it's pretty clear that coh thought a prem club would come in for him. when that didn't happen he had to pick the best offer on the table. it just happens to have been from a club that are doing well.
if they do get promoted i've no idea how he'll get on. gus is a prem player, coh i'm not so sure.
i don't hate the guy, he's just another mercenary player that the current system has created. but his departure felt more selfish that gus and vik because we were left with nothing having paid his wages when he was out for so long. bound to leave some bad feeling.
yeah, good point. You say hamer is a premier league player but clubs established in the league seem to not show much interest
It's only one season tbf and a biunceback one at that. Will agree with you if sheff utd don't go up and no one comes in for him next yearYou say hamer is a premier league player but clubs established in the league seem to not show much interest
I was going to say that Prem clubs undertake due diligence but it's out in the open that he does not live the life. You say hamer is a premier league player but clubs established in the league seem to not show much interest
we got him on a free…not like we spent millions on him then he leftHe pissed off on a free to a club in the same division. Had he gone up a league or abroad I doubt it would have been anything like a ‘lovers tiff’.
I agree, which is one of many reasons I didn't boo him on Friday. But you're going to have a hard time getting your average fan not to when a fan favourite leaves on a free to a divisional rival.we got him on a free…not like we spent millions on him then he left
also we could’ve offered him a deal when he fucked his knee but we didn’t we waited. which is fine and probably the risk averse thing to do but it’s business
for some reason I always thought Fulham would have been a good club for him, but like others they weren’t interested, I reckon he’ll have one more go with sheff Utd then he’ll be off abroad, strange if he’s that good been nowhere near the Dutch team ?You say hamer is a premier league player but clubs established in the league seem to not show much interest
Not a mercenary, but the most driven. Which is part of the reason why his career will reach heights that Hamer's won't.Vik was always a mercenary. I never loved Vik like I did Gus. Even Viks song was a bit detached IMO. He didn’t have the same cult status as Hamer and O’Hare despite being the best of the three IMO.
Yet despite that he came across far better in his farewell videoVik was always a mercenary. I never loved Vik like I did Gus. Even Viks song was a bit detached IMO. He didn’t have the same cult status as Hamer and O’Hare despite being the best of the three IMO.
Disagree, one of their players mis kicked in front of goal when he should have scored, Cannon shot weakly when he should have put Hamer through who was unmarked and Cannon was too slow and got caught up when he was way clear. Apart from that, for 15 minutes in the middle of the second half, they were all over us and should have capitalised. We blocked so many shots that on another day would have flew in. Watch the whole match back (not just the highlights). It wasn't as bad as Leeds at home who should have had a cricket score.Agreed that we looked toothless but the suggestion Sheff U should’ve ‘realistically had 5’ is ridiculous. Their xG was 1.64. 2 good chances and they took them plus Hamer’s FK.
They’re not a team you want to go 1-0 down against because Sheff U are happy being out of possession.
The wider question we should have for Lampard is what’s his plan for when we go behind in games?
In the games we’ve conceded first, we’ve won once out of 6 against rock bottom Hull and two draws against Cardiff. It’s only 7 games and losing to WBA, Leeds and Sheff U isn’t terrible reading.
In terms of technical ability I think he is - not absolutely top level but mid table certainly. But it goes beyond that at that level and fitness is also absolutely critical. Hamer not having the self-discipline in regards to his diet is going to put off a lot of suitors, and beyond that they will wonder if he can't be disciplined in that area maybe he won't be disciplined in others. You say hamer is a premier league player but clubs established in the league seem to not show much interest
And just like that, BOTH Brizzle and WBA are beaten. Like I said, not the end of the world. Plus Bristol still have Sunderland, Leeds and WBA to play. In the WBA game one of the 2 will drop points. Or better still it's a stalemate and they finish it with just a point each. I'm quietly confident we'll finish within the play offs. Our run in is much preferable to Bristol. It's what happens when we get there that worries me. Or worse still, if we actually win the bloody thing. Judging by how easily last seasons whipping boys dispatched us last night, we're miles off ready.

Very good point tbf.
I believe we have a brilliant squad, we really do, but it's a squad that has consistently shipped in too many goals, this is if we want to be promoted.
I like Kitching, I think he's our best centre back.Bobby is too hit and miss for me. It is an absolute priority we spend whatever funds we have in the summer on at least 1 centre half that is a level above what we currently have, I have consistently mentioned Tanganga.
Even if we sign only Tanganga, get it done. Our centre backs are still developing, we need someone in there that is very much in their prime.
Looking at who we sell, I'm letting Binks go, Collins stays if Dov's is out for 6-9 months.
DaSivla and Bidders, again this position needs improving, but my absolute priority is bringing in a centre back that stands out in this division. Our side would be top 3 next season if we prioritise signing a top centre back, we don't need anymore forwards and we don't need any more midfielders.
Our loaned out players need bringing back and being utilised, for example 3-0 against Sunderland, I'm very much bringing on the younger players.
I see our centre back position being the reason we are 5th and not 2nd/3rd the smallest of detail is essential for success, and for me that it's buying a top centre back.
I've had a few drinks, so excuse me...Tyrese Campbell is the human equivalent of a papercut. The Black Joey Barton
Grealish didn't when he left Villa. He signed a new contract so they could get top dollar for him.Going on a free meant he maximises his earnings. Who wouldn’t do the same?
my point is it’s stupid and the reaction is idiotic. your point seems to be the people with those reactions are idiotsBecause most men are children in grown up bodies. Case in point being the grown men around me declaring they don’t care about *insert opposition player* because all they care about is another man who kicks the round thing for their team.
It’s easily explained and no big deal. COH is being very well compensated either way.
I value honestyI find it odd that a player telling us he doesn’t want to be here anymore is now a display of honourable virtue (as if Hamer and O’Hare’s motivations weren’t also completely transparent, and were monetised by the club to the maximum extent possible). He did an interview right after he signed for them cry-arseing about Robins dropping him from the side at the back end of last seasonHe signed the best offer on the table. He ended up at a better team, earning more money. What should he have done differently?

Conveniently forgetting that he was out of form, scuffed a chance to score in a shoot out to get us to an FA Cup final and made it abundantly clear that he was not going to be signing a new contract
It was disrespectful to Robins and burned his bridges here as far as I am concerned
Like Dublin did for us & his reward was to be booed, called a Judas & have people wishing him a broken neck. Footy fans eh.Grealish didn't when he left Villa. He signed a new contract so they could get top dollar for him.
