Weirdly growing more and more confident we will get something.

just hope we go there and give it a crack, zero point sitting back and waiting for inevitable.

also confident we get something from Burnley.

Be nice for Sheaf, Rudy and BTA back on bench. Same starting team as Sunderland - torn on Bidwell / JDS however.
Think you’d have to back Jay. Had a good performance against Sunderland

I know the answer but don’t suppose anyone is aware of a spare for this one? Currently driving up and sitting alone as my brother is in the 1100 club

They are a different type of side to Leeds but have gained more points than Leeds(!) and would be top of it weren't for their points deduction.
They are up there with us in form tables etc, one of the best home records in the league.

Not quite sure why people are saying things like they are there for the taking or they would like to face them over two legs or in a play off game.

This is as tough as it gets and defensively we need to be absolutely on our A game to get anything out of this one.

I agree, for some reason they've been called shit etc on here all season and I have no idea why

Is Hamer really missing?
A misunderstanding. I said about both sides not playing well but grinding out results....Sunderland and Sheffield United.....but don't expect an easy game like with Sunderland as Sunderland don't have a Hamer. Looking back I could have made it more clear.

He has been out a couple of times recently with muscle injuries though.

Wilder , just like Warnock , horrible managers who set their teams up to be rough & try to stop the opposition playing……. at all costs .
They might get second place & promotion , but inevitably come straight back down, playing their brand of football

Was just watching some women's football and the villa goalkeepers wearing a mask like Leon Best,a forgotten player from our past but went on a bit of a scoring spree from memory, was it Cardiff we had him from?

That's not a fair representation of Sheffield United really, they've only made 16 more fouls than us this season. Any team's objective is to stop the opposition playing?

Well, when we played them after Robins got sacked it was a game we could’ve won so that perception still lingers.

They’re over performing based on the ‘underlying data’ but they have that star quality to win games.

Finally, their home form hasn’t been amazing in 2025 (currently 11th in home form, last 8 games), so there’s a confidence that we can nick a win or a draw. In fact, based on home form alone, Oxford is our toughest away game in 2025.

2-1 win, they’ll go 1-0 up with O’hare scoring assisted by Hamer for Hamer to get his song sung followed by ‘fuck off O’hare, fuck off O’hare, I just dont think you understand, you left us on a free, Hamer for a fee, your a twat O’hare’. Then Haji scores 10 mins later for Bobby to score the winner in 90+4
Better than a Hamer goal followed by a pitch invasion by Cov supporters in celebrating a goal by their hero.

Can’t see a win… but can see a hard fought lucky at times draw.

My predictions:

1-1

Thomas header for us

Kitching OG

Our fans to argue about Hamer reception to then give him a standing ovation as he’s about to deliver a dangerous corner for them.

Our fans to pretend O’Hare was shit for us.

If we replicate how we played against Sunderland, we win. I doubt we will have that about us away from home. Surely the message from Frank here is 'Don't lose'? Utd are under huge pressure and cracks have been appearing and they have managed to produce a win when not playing well. We must get at them early and try and control the ball more than them, as we did last week.
TBH it could be anything. WLD for me. I sense though we could have a very good day. Wright, if on fire is a game changer.

Looks like Hamer is still up to his old tricks and we thought it was us he loved so much. Think he just enjoys a night on the piss sucking up to whoever he can have some drinks with.

If we play as we did against Derby then we lose 6-0. If we play as we did against Sunderland then we win 3-2.

I’m going for a score draw, probably 2-2, which would be a good result.

Would love to stick a massive boot in their promotion charge! Saw that arrogant prick in their dugout out on the lash after the Sheffield Derby the other week and he definitely thinks they are already promoted

Yeah, they're clearly not shit, they're a top team at this level.

That's it, though, despite SU's greater consistency, they look first amongst equals, whereas Burnley and Leeds look like they could compete a level up (albeit in Burnley's case, very dully).

SU were as bad a top-flight team as there has ever been, and if they go up, they will be again.

They’re getting results but even their own fans think they’re playing shit. Why the Sheff Utd Defence Force is out in this thread I’m not sure. They’re definitely the most beatable of the top three, they’ve lost as many games as the other two put together.

It's not a defence force is it? I can't stand Wilder and O'Hare and Hamer can get fucked aswell the people that suck him off are embarrassing

However, take away their points deduction they're literally top of the league

Everyone saying 'winnable' 'this lot are shit' etc are talking bollocks

If we were offered a point now, everyone would snap their hand off. Also our record on Friday night away games is gash, is is our Bramall Lane record

I said on first night of the season they looked a good side and was told I was sucking them off.

They've got a good team and it'll be a hard game.

Their own fans say they’re shit, take it up with them. And they have lost more games than the other two so by definition it is the most winnable of the three. I’ve not been blown away when I watched them. They’re very effective at grinding out wins but as we saw in the last match we’ll be in the game far more than we were against Leeds for example.

Their own fans are well known for being thick mutants who don't understand football tbf.

This is it, they grind out wins. And for all the lauding of Leeds on here as if they're PSG Sheffield United are level with them

COH was dropped for the Steel City Derby and his replacement (Brewster) scored so maybe he doesn't play?

That being said can see him being desperate to play and Wilder relenting particularly after he commented on the reception that he got in the leg at our place

While a 'don't lose' seems sensible, I fear that messages like that make players nervous and play more defensively, creating a poor performance.

I think "Go out there for the win, but a draw would be ok" is a better message, even though it effectively says the same thing.
