He'd been suspended as it was viewed he was “too obstinate and arguably insubordinate”. I thought the payout was following him bring his suspension to a hearing which found in his favour.

From what I read, the former editor got a new job and moved on - nothing I'm aware of to suggest the two things are intrinsically linked.

It makes it a coincidence if you want it to I guess. However, the fact there's nothing to support any such link, unless you know different, would just make it opinion.

Why would they surely be taking action? Also not sure how this has ended up with SG being brought into the conversation, when the subject at hand is LR.

Reid wasn't sack, he resigned. He'd been suspended, but following this going to a hearing they found in his favour and he got a pay out. The editor moved to a different role and there's nothing to show this was intrinsically linked with the LR situation - it's possible he thought, sod this for a game of soldiers and decided to move on, but he wasn't sack, dismissed or suspended from his role at CT.

1, What would the book be of use to anyone if it had all been in the CET already.

Or

2, His paymasters at the CET wouldn't let certain things go to print because of their closeness to Wasps /CCC. But they can't stop what is going in the book. Maybe he is after an unfair dismissal

Similarly it might be a coincidence that despite the assumption from the original press release (new role in the northwest) the ex-editor left journalism to work as a spin doctor (wonder if any of the experience from his CT days was helpful in providing evidence of his ability to spin positive stories for a large organisation?).

Coventry Telegraph political correspondent Les Reid has resigned and warned he may sue publisher Trinity Mirror.

Reid also said it was “good news” editor Alun Thorne is leaving the paper this month.

Announcing his resignation on Twitter, Reid said he was planning a book on the “decline of public interest journalism”.

Reid also said he would be writing more on the subject of Coventry City Football Club, which announced it had sold its stadium to London Wasps.

CCFC will have to work a lot harder. Wasps are taking over everything that our club needs but you still preach on the side of Wasps. How are we supposed to be successful without a ground to play in if Wasps continue to refuse to have talks? How are we supposed to be successful if our academy loses its home?

I agree with the fact that CCFC will have to work harder. Problem as I see it though Astute is SISU, let alone CCFC, don't have a pot to piss in so no matter how hard the club and their owners work they will never be able to compete. Sisu are holding out for a result from either this or the next JR as their only means of making some money, their gambling again on our future and if they loose they will just walk away as the club is self sustaining at the moment. The cycle will never break until the litigation comes to a natural conclusion, were in Limbo until then or someone decides to take a punt on us and then its only if they want to sell.
