It needs looking at for next season.Photo from Doug's brother on twitter
So many empty seats. Made to look busier as people are standing.
A real shame compared to last season.

Season has stalled massively so I’m not surprised the noise has followed suit.
Where I agree that not on one occasion this season has the atmosphere matched anything from last season, but last season we never had a run of 1 win in 9. Loud support won’t just carry on hammer and tongs with such shit form, with regards to this season.Stalled last season and it remained good.
They buy tickets in block 2 or 3 then go drinking in club Coventry or one of the boxes. They have been told they are on final warning. Old legion heads I believe. Too old for the naughty corner now.
It has been ruined and the lack of support for the team from there that was there last season is showing - the club seriously need to sort it out for next season even if it means asking everyone in the corner to move behind the goal and making them pay on the gate blocks or something similarYep, it was sparse all game. Getting emptier every week and yet you cannot buy a ticket up there because they took off hundreds of seats from sale.
We need to stop demonizing the fans that sit there and treating them as criminals. It has been ruined and the lack of support for the team from there that was there last season is showing - the club seriously need to sort it out for next season even if it means asking everyone in the corner to move behind the goal and making them pay on the gate blocks or something similar

They tried to encourage that after we moved back but people want to be near the away fans. If its a a free for all then fans will overcrowd the area and inevitably course some kind of trouble. This led to these measures i the first place after the Derby gameIt has been ruined and the lack of support for the team from there that was there last season is showing - the club seriously need to sort it out for next season even if it means asking everyone in the corner to move behind the goal and making them pay on the gate blocks or something similar
Won’t happen unless they make the away end smaller unfortunatelyOpening Block 13 has to be the main aim.

I know I agree with you mate I’m just saying that that’s how the safety advisers see itWhy though? They've already made the away end 4500 with two blocks closed?
Because our fans cant be trusted to behave when close to the away fansWhy though? They've already made the away end 4500 with two blocks closed?
Disagree on the whole. Large segregation isn’t necessary if a small segregation is stewarded/policed properlyBecause our fans cant be trusted to behave when close to the away fans
Its not me who you need to disagree with. The safety group clearly agree. City could want to open up all blocks but wouldnt be given the safety certificate to do it. When 3 blocks of people have 2-3 times the amount of fans in than it should do the is an issueDisagree on the whole. Large segregation isn’t necessary if a small segregation is stewarded/policed properly
its not rocket science. there's problems, restriticions get put in place, there's more problems, more restrictions get put in placeWhy though? They've already made the away end 4500 with two blocks closed?

The measures have been put in place for a reason. The club isn't going to make seats unavailable and lose revenue for the sake of it.its not rocket science. there's problems, restriticions get put in place, there's more problems, more restrictions get put in place
if people want the restrictions removed they have to give the club a strong hand. there is zero chance when the club is constantly having to issue warnings about fan behaviour and people can't attend matches without running on the pitch, doing class As, not sitting in the right seat, trying to get to away fans etc
doesn't matter if you agree with the restrictions or not just think how the safety meeting is going to go. the club go in and ask for changes and they get presented with a list of ongoing issues. they need to be able to go into the meeting and show how there has been no issues over an extended period, until that point forget about it. suspect there's more chance of restrictions in block 3 & 4 being brought in at the moment than anything else

Of course you can argue subjectively about whether the measures are overly draconian, but the fact is measures are in place because fans misbehaved.
A big part was people going into that section despite not having tickets in there, leading to overcrowding, people in aisles etc and that becomes a major safety issue that can't be ignored and restrictions have to be brought in. Imagine if a medical emergency happened and getting that person help was hindered due to overcrowding?
I know that this inconveniences a large number of law-abiding fans but sadly those few mean that has to happen. So while you might say "Stewards should check all the tickets" that's a hell of a task to undertake and if we want these restrictions removed we've got to self-police it. If you can't get a ticket in that area then don't try and move into it, or if you see someone doing it tell them to fuck off or get a steward to remove them. Unless that happens this is going to continue and placing the entire blame on security is just willfully ignoring that fans need to do their bit too.
That really is nonsense. Block 13 would take our fans about 30 feet closer, and still over 100 feet away, what difference would it make? Not forgetting the same supporters travel away from home and are routinely often no more than a few feet and a line of stewards away from opposing fans, without issue.
The whole thing was a gross overreaction to a non-problem. The minor issue of overcrowding could easily have been resolved by ticket checks, the same ticket checks that they introduced and which are working it seems. They didn't, on top of that, need to take 10-15% of tickets in blocks 14 and 15 off sale and cap the capacity. Total overkill.
People who defend this nonsense clearly don't travel to away games. None of the measures we see at the CBS; reduced capacities, massive areas of segregation, 80s style security fences outside are used anywhere else in the country. I refuse to believe that we are so much of an outlier that we need all this.

The separation in the Arsenal vs United game looks t be a flight of stairs
We don't need it. Look at the hooligan figures across the UK, Coventry does not have a particular problem. The derby issue that gets cited was caused by about 100 derby fans closing in on the home fans by moving into the empty seats. 1 Coventry fan got into that areaThat really is nonsense. imo the club have very little say in this. I'm not convinced it's their decision to take tickets off sale and have increased stewarding costs. it will be something handed down by the SAG and if the club don't comply the safety certificate will be revokedAs I've mentioned in another post. It's time to work with fans on this.
Admittedly my experience with these type of group is with music venues & festivals rather than sporting events I'm not really convinced that we tried the restrictions and people are still coked out of the minds is the path to getting the SAG to let us do what we wantNothing will stop fans
Something doesn't add up. We've got people on here saying there's been no issues in months / years yet there's been 2 articles on the clubs website since the World Cup break pleading with fans to behave. That's off the back of complaints from other supporters so not something that can be blamed on the SAG
We also have people saying they've moved to a different part of the ground to avoid trouble, or in some cases considering not attending at all and people saying they will no longer go to away games because of the constant trouble. Is there some sort of mass hallucination going on?
We all want the restrictions removed but we need to do our part and give the club a strong hand when they're making their argument

You can't just dump this all on stewards, who I would guess don't get great pay and little training, at some point we have to take a collective responsibility
