So who realistically are the teams left fighting for 5th and 6th (2 Viewers)

In my predictions, I only had us getting 3 points out of the three games against the top 4 teams. We are they already so anything else is now a bonus in my eyes, it also helps if we have another Derby along the way in what we might call our easier fixtures.
I had us win Sunderland, draw Sheffield United and WBA with a loss to Burnley.

I would like to think 3 points minimum from them 3 games now. Wright with his confidence back added to the way we dispatched Sunderland will have the others worried about playing us. Who here would like to play a team with 10 wins from their last 12 games with a striker who scores for fun.

Carried away maybe and I don't doubt that Sunderland won't be as bad as they were Saturday for the rest of the season but do you reckon we could make 10 points up on them and have a potential second leg at our place in the play offs?

It’s possible, but requires teams below us beating or drawing against Sunderland so unless we’re winning every game, we may want Sunderland to do us a favour here and there.

They haven't been very good since the start of the year but have been grinding out results.

I would be happy just to finish 5th and they stay 4th. We're the last side they want to meet in the playoffs. Good chance the tie would be over before the second game. But there's a long way to go before this.

Or more to the point, it's looking lightly we will play Sunderland in the playoffs, can Sunderland play as bad next time we play them and can we play as good the next time we play them. 🤔

It was on the cards before we played them. Their biggest weaknesses are our biggest strengths. They also have a big injury list.

They will have players come back before the playoffs. But will they be match fit in time and come back as planned? It's never easy coming back from injury.

I think Sunderland are in a false position, due to a fantastic start to the season , watched them a few times since Christmas and they look poor . Think 5th and 6th will be between us and WBA

Have to get fifth for me. We can beat Sunderland over two legs and anything can happen at Wembley, I’d be less confident about Burnley or Sheff Utd over two legs.

I just really want to avoid Burnley. Will squeeze the life out of a game. Happy to go to pens with their keeper too I'd imagine, a bit of a specialist.

Nobody's in a false position.

Their form has levelled out since the first part of the season, but it's still hardly terrible.

I'm not so sure about Sheffield United. Their injury list keeps growing and like Sunderland they haven't played well for ages. They have been flogging their players to death and are now paying for it. Even Hamer has been out a couple of times recently for muscle injuries.

I'd be delighted with Sunderland over 2 legs then Sheffield United at Wembley. Our next 2 games will tell us a lot.

Still genuinely think weirdly our best results next two are to beat Sheff Utd and lose to Burnley to give them the edge.

I sort of agree with what you're saying, certainly if you said pick one to lose I'd say Burnley. But until we are guaranteed play offs, our best results are just to beat everyone.

Yeah it’s a bit cocky. And I think we’ll lose both anyway, I just really don’t want to watch two legs against Burnley.

All getting a bit what if but if we don’t lose to Sheff Utd and them and Bristol make the playoffs with us and Sunderland none of the other PO teams would have beaten us this season. Obviously if it’s Burnley and WBA they have.
Sheffield United haven't beat a single team in the top 6 btw. Although the recent stat that came out about our form in away games during the week has me cursing its a Friday night rather than a regular Saturday game.
