Sorry to hear this of your friend. It occurred to me though, maybe Tim Fisher could also be a sufferer, believing the things he says to be true?
Yup.I can’t claim to be an expert from my one experience of bipolar but from the off I recognised some very familiar signs, including his general demeanour during his very first radio interview. Hence I’ve stayed of the the threads until just very recently.
Don’t feel sorry for her. She’s a very well rounded individual and very successful in her chosen field. She’s the same person she always was before the bipolar presented itself, maybe more focused but that’s been a bonus to her as far as I can tell. She just happens to have an illness that is manageable but unfortunately due to a lack of understanding has a stigma attached to it. Not judging anyone for that, I openly admit I was completely ignorant to the condition before it effected someone I know and believed the stigma. That’s life I guess.
If my hunch is right and Dale is on the manic side of bipolar I’d suggest it’s completely different to what Tim does.
If it’s only just presented itself his family like him will be unaware of his condition until it’s diagnosed. This won’t happen until the fantasy completely collapses and he receives help. That’s anytime now at a guess. This is how it happened with my friend and she was in her early 30’s when it presented itself. Her fantasy was more far fetched than Dales apparent fantasy so it was a relatively short period of time before she was committed and started receiving help. I’m talking days. But she believed it at that moment in time and would have gone to any lengths to keep the fantasy going and convince others that it was real. Like I said, familiar signs. If it is something like that, it should be where his family are trying to help him rather than encouraging it. If he is making up he has won loads of money why are they going to house viewings with him and letting him tell his kid they are buying a big nice new house? Why are his friends around him jumping on the bandwagon thinking he is buying a football club and being in pictures with him and not helping? Surely it would be pretty obvious it was in their heads.
If it was to happen to me for example and I was to become manic, my wife would be able to tell that's what it was and she would know I clearly wasn't a millionaire. The last thing she would do is let me go around trying to buy houses and football clubs and even more so drag my daughter and other family members into it thinking I was rich. I'd like to think if I was being named on the internet and forging solicitors letters she would get in touch with the people to have a quiet word explaining the condition. It wouldn't excuse it but it would explain it, I know I'd do the same if it was her.
That's the strange bit about it all and what I don't get. The people around him being quite happy to let it go on, when a fair few people from years ago said he was the same about stories.
Yup.
I have a friend who is bipolar too.
Definitely think this Dale Evans has some mental health condition. It just doesn't make sense otherwise.
I know people will laugh, but I once knew a guy who was convinced he was the king of Scotland.
I think we all sometimes laugh at delusion and psychosis because we don't understand it.

It may well turn out to be something completely different like the guy is just a complete knob doing what the guy who faked a lottery win done but in my mind and without knowing all the details I suspect it’s something far more serious and far less sinister. Mental illness. Which is why I won’t get personal and start attacking Dale.
is his wealth now in question? i thoguiht the poker millions was a fact?
no i just assumed it was as everyone seemed to know him from poker winningsWas it? Where from?
Totally agree. If it is something like that, it should be where his family are trying to help him rather than encouraging it. maybe everyone just believed him
I thought in Hoffmans statement as well he said that he had verified proof of funds?
Or are we saying that it was made up on Microsoft Word?
Cov Tel said:Gary Hoffman has confirmed that Nuneaton poker player Dale Evans has joined his Coventry City takeover consortium and insists he is "serious".
The former CCFC vice chairman has told the Telegraph he has seen proof that Mr Evans has substantial wealth and has welcomed him to the consortium.
But then he has set himself up for very serious fraud charges. It can very easily make sense. The same as the lottery fraud winner made sense.
Totally agree. Not very rigourous with his checking of credentials is he and accepted the bloke far too easily and quickly.if hoffman has had wool pulled over his eyes doesnt bode well for our plan a(b) investers either!
maybe SBT should do a takeoverTotally agree. Not very rigourous with his checking of credentials is he and accepted the bloke far too easily and quickly.
The alleged photoshopped documents shown on here were very quickly dismissed as being fake and error riddled.
maybe SBT should do a takeover
how many posters do we have? 300? £5000 each
lets do it?
If it is something like bipolar disorder, logic goes out of the window, for the sufferer and family. You have to experience the problem to have any chance of a vague understanding. And despite herculean efforts, you will never have more than a vague understanding of the problem.Totally agree.
If he HAS got some condition and his family and friends have all happily played along they want shooting!
But then he has set himself up for very serious fraud charges.
For me a person with a mental health condition wouldn't even consider that consequence. If he is of sound mind, I'm sure he has.
Obviously I can't say 100%, but it all seems to point to it as far as I am concerned.
If he hasn't got any condition I do hope legal action is taken against him.
Think you may need a hand there partner. You send me all the cash, I will look after it
For security, I will send you proof of my bank (opens up Photoshop)
maybe SBT should do a takeover

Can you please post up the photoshopped evidence!I am being seroius I would do it and have the cash
I doubt that the police/CPS would prosecute him without a complaint from an injured party i.e. CCFC, SISU, or Clapham and Collinge. And I doubt that, now they've put the frighteners on him with the suggestion of legal action, that they'll have shut him up for a while. My guess is that both SISU and the solicitors will think that provided he shuts up permanently, there's no need for them to take further action - however, if he starts up again, they may choose to take action to get him to desist or even get damages (although what those damages could be, I have no idea).Legal action should be taken anyway and he can claim his issues led him to do what he has.
There could be several other plausible reasons why he’s done it.

I like the idea, but that's only £1.5m.
We would have to stump up about £50,000 each, and I'm not normally a betting man but I'll wager not all 300 would pay that much.
Oh yeah bad maths. I was aiming for 15m
I agree not all posters would be able to for 50k. 5k could be managable for quite a few though. Maybe we let hoffman into OUR consortioum for the rest lol
I added more than that over christmas.Hoffman will add a pound.
I doubt that club is even worth that, on paper.I like the idea, but that's only £1.5m.
