I know full well that there have been Muslim terror attacks, I also know shitloads of Muslims who are wonderful people, and that the ones who do these things are a tiny minority, but also that when they do happen they are horrific. I also know that Nigeria has a fraud problem, but that in the UK Nigerians are performing really well in education, contributing to the economy and are long integrated, therefore I am able to avoid ‘assumptions’ that “Nigerians are predisposed to fraud” when we’re talking about Nigerians in the UK.
I agree that thoughts are just human nature, but when they become racial stereotypes of entire groups the likes of which are going up on here, I don’t agree one bit.
I see these racist stereotypes as a sign of a lack of intelligence to be honest, an inability to see that the actions of some people doesn’t mean that entire races are put in a box. Not all English people are hooligans, not all Muslims are terrorists, not all Nigerians are fraudsters. Thoughts are one thing and understandable, but deal in fact, not ‘assumptions’

I'm pretty sure nobody thinks every Nigerian person is into fraud or every albanian is into drug dealing.
Again, have a look at the Manchester Bombings as an example where it can go too far the other way where people are scared to act on gut feelings.
I'm guessing knife crime is barely tackled because of it in some areas.

Nobody is saying or assuming that every muslim is a terrorist.
People assume that a terrorist is muslim. Rightly or wrongly.
They have said that Nigerians are predisposed to fraud, clearly in the context of the U.K., and lied that someone else said it when they didn’t, which is what started this, that’s over the line.

I don't think it is clearly in the context of the UK, rightly or wrongly if you say online fraud then people's first thought would be nigerian scams. I've worked in IT over 20 years, if you wanted to start cancelling everybody who made a link between Nigerians and online scams and fraud then there wouldn't have been many workers. Much the same as "Indian Callcentres trying to hack me".
So you think Harry Krishna was commenting on Nigeria the country as opposed to Nigerians in the U.K., despite the ‘source’ of his comment being articles specifically discussing immigrants in the U.K.

I was actually requoting from memory the gist of Trevor Phillips' C4 documentary and associated report that certain ethnic groups are associated with certain types of crime. It struck me as an incredibly honest thing to say, which at the time - as now, could not be said by a white person. I don't recall the exact wording but think it did refer to crime within the UK. He also said the same about economic activity (irish builders, Indian shop keepers etc.), but I'm fucked if I'm going to start looking for page numbers for a very minor Internet squabble.
PS: do any of you characters have jobs or spend time in pursuits other than bickering on the Internet?
